Nana Aba Anamoah Reveals Her Disappointment

Nana Aba Anamoah

Ghanaian broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah has severely lashed out at the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey.

During a discussion, Okraku-Mantey’s reluctance to appear on a show is based on his belief that it no longer focuses on pertinent entertainment issues but instead resorts to politics and other issues.

This sparked varied reactions, where Nana Aba Anamoah, described him as someone who had failed to address key issues in the entertainment industry while in a position of influence.

Earlier, Okraku-Mantey suggested changing the name of a show on a television station because the show no longer focuses on showbiz topics.

He was asked when he would appear on the show, Mark responded that until the show portrays the qualities of a showbiz.

When this issue was raised for discussion, Nana Aba Anamoah immediately jumped in, asserting that Okraku-Mantey had no right to criticize the show for discussing pertinent issues when he had failed to contribute to resolving them during his time in office.

“He said there are issues in the entertainment industry. How did he deal with that when he was a radio presenter for a very long time? How did he use his space? How did he use his space to deal with all those issues?

“He was given a position that could have allowed him to make the space he is complaining about better. What was his impact? It was zero. You know what, he sounds better when he is quiet. He shouldn’t talk about what people are doing in his space because he has not been impactful.”

Nana Aba Anamoah also noted that he shouldn’t be addressed as “honorable” because he doesn’t deserve that title.

“He is not an honorable. Don’t give people titles when they don’t own them. He is not a Member of Parliament. He has never been.”

This development, captured in a video making rounds online, has drawn mixed reactions. Many have criticized Nana Aba Aamoah for her harsh statement, with some even questioning if she has a personal vendetta against Mark Okraku-Mantey.

On the other hand, others sided with her sentiments.

The renowned Ghanaian broadcaster revealed that she has never engaged in any intimate exchanges in return for job opportunities or career advancements throughout her professional journey.

Nana Aba Anamoah delved into the inspiration behind her women’s empowerment conference, ‘Women of Valour’.

She described the initiative as a celebration of strength and resilience, adding that it was an idea she had nurtured for over a decade while searching for the right direction.

The seasoned broadcaster explained that ‘Women of Valour’ was largely driven by the overwhelming messages she received from her followers.

She shared that while her X (formerly Twitter) DMs were locked due to the sheer volume of messages, her Instagram inbox remained open, allowing countless individuals—especially women—to reach out for guidance.

While discussing her empowerment project, Nana Aba Anamoah highlighted a troubling trend where young women confided in her about job offers that required them to engage in intimate acts as a condition for employment.

“I have never experienced that in my life. Since I started working, no man has ever approached me with such an offer in exchange for a job. So when another woman finds herself in that situation and seeks my advice, I struggle to respond effectively because I have not lived that experience.”

The mother of one further elaborated that had she encountered such a situation herself, her guidance would have been more practical and insightful. She admitted that without firsthand experience, any advice she gave might feel superficial.

This, she explained, was one of the main reasons she created ‘Women of Valour’—to provide a platform where women could unite, share experiences, and empower one another.
