Actress Kafui Danku also wrote on Facebook, “Super congratulations on your appointment  ✅ @jamesgardinergh 🥳.”

President John Dramani Mahama made the appointment among a slew of appointments as his new government takes shape.

James Gardiner’s new role comes after his remarkable win at the 14th Ghana Movie Awards, where he received the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role award for his outstanding display in ‘A Taste of Sin’.

This achievement further cements his reputation as one of Ghana’s most talented and celebrated actors.

Beyond acting, James Gardiner is also a model and entrepreneur, having appeared in several advertising campaigns and pursued various business ventures outside the entertainment industry. His versatility and dedication have earned him admiration both within and beyond the film world.

James Gardiner, widely recognized for his contributions to the entertainment industry, is expected to bring fresh insights and innovative strategies to the NFA.

His appointment is anticipated to play a crucial role in advancing Ghana’s film industry by fostering growth and sustainability.

In his new capacity, James Gardiner will be responsible for overseeing initiatives aimed at developing and promoting the local film sector.

His leadership is expected to encourage stronger collaboration among filmmakers, improve the quality of Ghanaian productions, and attract international recognition for the country’s cinematic talent.

President Mahama’s decision to appoint Gardiner is viewed as a strategic effort to strengthen the creative arts sector and further propel the development of the Ghanaian film industry.

James Gardiner confirmed his new appointment as Deputy Executive Secretary of NFA, bringing clarity to the earlier news of replacing Juliet Asante.

He expressed his readiness to work with stakeholders to improve the film industry.

“I’m willing and ready to listen to concerns and how best we can work together to lift the industry right where it should be. Just for clarity, I’m serving as the deputy and not the main executive secretary.”

With a new substantive executive secretary unnamed, actress Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante is the known head of the authority.

Under the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Arts & Culture, the NFA is mandated to enforce the legal framework for the production, regulation, nurturing, and development of the local film industry, ensuring a conducive environment for the local production, distribution, exhibition, and marketing of Ghanaian films.

Some Ghanaian social media users celebrated James Gardiner’s new appointment as Deputy Executive Secretary of NFA.
