Government Criticized Over Failure to Structure Mining Processes

MC Yaa Yeboah

Media personality, MC Yaa Yeboah, has dragged Afua Asantewaa over her recent comment.

To anyone at sea, Afua Asantewaa has cried over receiving close to nothing from former beep, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the NPP government at large during her first sing-a-thon attempt.

According to her, the only thing she received from Dr. Bawumia and the NPP was a sore throat medicine.

Speaking on the issue, MC Yaa Yeboah has stated that there is no iota of truth in Afua Asantewaa’s claims.

MC Yaa Yeboah, speaking during the recent interview claims she is aware Afua Asantewaa received money from the NPP government.

She added that she does not understand why it would take Afua Asantewaa two years after her attempt before she would make such claims.

MC Yaa Yeboah went on to question how far with the money Afua Asantewaa collected from Ghanaians after claiming she wanted to help fix street lights.

Moreover, reacting to this in an interview, Afua Asantewaa denied receiving the donations personally.

Following this, Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), said he led a team that presented her with the money and packs of food, drinks, and water on behalf of the Vice President.

This follows reports that the immediate past Vice President gifted her the money during her first sing-a-thon attempt in December 2023.

She said she only became aware of Dr Bawumia’s donations recently, after her interview went viral.

When asked if her team members had not informed her about the donations from the Vice President’s team, Afua Asantewaa suggested that they had not been forthcoming with the truth.

“I never received GH₵20,000…..I’m telling my honest truth; it’s unfortunate that when you’re telling the truth, it becomes difficult for people to accept or believe. But I’m not an ungrateful person, and I will never be. What I will not do is tell a lie. I did that interview telling what I knew at the time I left the box.”

Ghanaians reacted to Afua Asantewaa’s interview.

“This girl is now talking too much and messing up herself. A woman of substance won’t meddle in stuff like that. Look at the way she is answering the questions. What is she trying to hide?”

@Asante Kwesi Ferdy

“Did you verify from your husband and your team about the money before coming out to make that statement.”

@IB Martin also

“Afua should stop granting interviews.”

MC Yaa Yeboah questioned the Ghana Police Service over the shooting incident that left Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii with serious injuries.

According to her, since the unfortunate incident occurred, the police have yet to brief the public on their investigations and the actions they are taking to bring the perpetrator to justice.

She asserted that she does not want to believe that some prominent individuals are lobbying for the case to be overlooked by the police in order to shield the perpetrator from facing the consequence of their actions.

“Why haven’t we heard from the police about Kofi’s case till date. Have they been forced not to work on the issue. Because that’s what it looks like. Even the recent Nungua shooting incident has seen suspect remanded. So why hasn’t the person caught on camera in this case been arrested or dealt with.

“As we speak, we don’t know if the person has been arrested. There has been no police statement on the incident, absolutely nothing. The laws work in this country, so the police should act on it as soon as possible.”
