NNPC and Dangote Forge Long-Term Gas Supply Agreement

NNPC and Dangote Cement Strategic Energy Partnership

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP) have entered into a 10-year gas supply agreement in a significant move toward energy security and economic prosperity.

This partnership, aimed at advancing Nigeria’s energy sector, was cemented during a courtesy visit by Dangote Group President/CEO, Aliko Dangote, to the NNPC Group CEO, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and the company’s Senior Management Team at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, Aliko Dangote emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two entities to enhance Nigeria’s energy infrastructure and improve local crude oil refining capacity.

His remarks reflect the shared vision of both entities to work together in securing a sustainable energy future for Nigeria.

The collaboration is expected to streamline oil refining processes, strengthen domestic fuel supply, and reduce dependence on petroleum imports, ultimately bolstering the Nigerian economy.

During the discussions, Dangote extended congratulations to Ojulari and his management team on their recent appointments, acknowledging the monumental responsibility they carry.

Commitment to Energy Security and National Growth

NNPC’s Group CEO, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, also reiterated the company’s commitment to healthy competition and productive collaboration, ensuring that both NNPC Ltd. and Dangote Refinery continue to align their objectives toward enhancing Nigeria’s energy sector.

Ojulari affirmed, “NNPC will sustain its collaboration with the Dangote Group, especially where there is a commercial advantage for Nigeria,” highlighting the company’s vision for innovation and shared purpose.

Ojulari emphasized the technical expertise and dedication of NNPC’s workforce, describing them as hardworking professionals committed to delivering high-value energy solutions for Nigeria.

The partnership between NNPC and Dangote is expected to result in more efficient operations, improved local refining capacity, and economic gains for Nigerians.

With Nigeria’s oil and gas sector undergoing crucial reforms, the collaboration between these industry giants could streamline crude oil processing, attract new investments, and create opportunities for technological advancements within the country’s refining ecosystem.

Both executives committed to acting as relationship managers for their respective organizations, ensuring that their strategic alignment fosters long-term economic benefits.

Through sustained collaboration, NNPC and Dangote envision limitless opportunities to enhance Nigeria’s energy security, maximize local refining capacity, and support industrial growth.

The strategic alliance between NNPC and Dangote Group aligns with Nigeria’s broader efforts to transform its oil and gas industry.

By focusing on refining crude oil domestically, reducing fuel importation costs, and promoting industrial investment, this partnership reinforces Nigeria’s energy independence while driving national prosperity.

The coming months will be pivotal as both organizations deepen their commitment to operational efficiency, innovation, and shared success.

With Nigeria striving to expand energy infrastructure and secure sustainable solutions, the collaboration between NNPC and Dangote stands as a major milestone in the country’s journey toward a resilient, self-sufficient energy sector.

As Nigeria continues to seek ways to revamp its industrial growth and kickstart economic prosperity, partnerships like this between NNPC Ltd. and Dangote Group are pivotal.

By ensuring a stable supply of natural gas to the Dangote Refinery, the agreement not only supports the operational success of the refinery but also enhances Nigeria’s domestic gas utilization, aligning with the nation’s broader energy security and economic development goals.
