Robert Klah Apologises to Felicia Osei Over TGMA Ticket Issues

Robert Klah

Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions Ltd, has addressed issues regarding challenges some people faced with ticketing during the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Ghanaian media personality and content creator Felicia Osei took to social media to complain that she could not access the auditorium because she was told at the checkpoint that her ticket had already been used.

When asked if they had received similar complaints, Robert Klah said, “When we did our post-mortem session, we got that kind of information.”

“That’s why I’m giving you the various scenarios, because that’s it. You know, there were people who came and gave out their tickets.”

The Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions Ltd noted that whenever a ticket comes in, it is scanned, adding that there’s a face captured next to it.

He revealed that any other person who uses that same ticket would not be allowed into the venue.

However, Robert Klah apologised to Felicia Osei for the bad experience she went through and promised that the organisers would have a meeting with their vendors to know what exactly may have gone wrong.

“So, sorry to her for whatever embarrassment she may have faced, but it’s one of three things. And for us, there is a need for us to be able to investigate, to understand what it is, so that we are clean and clear on how to go forward without having an issue. So, apologies to her if she felt any embarrassment, but these are the realities on the ground that it could also be any of the three things that I’ve mentioned.”

The company is committed to investigating the matter and improving its processes to prevent similar issues in the future.

Robert Klah Explains TGMA Red Carpet Delay

The Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions Ltd opened up about why the red carpet session of the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards lasted longer than estimated.

He gave insights into the behind-the-scenes preparations for the TGMAs. “We had to prolong the red carpet to accommodate some people,” Robert Klah revealed.

When asked about the challenges of coordinating the event, Klah mentioned, “dancers who are supposed to be on stage, with whatever props are required. Awards Recipients dancers who are supposed to be on stage, with whatever props are required.”

He further emphasised the importance of having all cast and crew members present.

“Award recipients, all of these people are part of our cast and crew. Do you understand what I’m saying? So in as in as much as you want to be able to start, you can’t start.”

Klah also highlighted the need for meticulous planning.

“Technically, we were all ready, everything. We were still waiting to begin. At the time when we wanted to start the main show, we were still waiting. Because at the end of the day, you don’t want to announce the winner of an award and the presenter is not there, or even worse, the winner is not there. Or you’re ready to begin and your opening act is not there.

“You want to make sure they are all there. You want to have like two or three acts ready, so when you finish with one, the next is fready to go. All the necessary preparations must be in place. So, if these people are not there, it becomes difficult to begin.”

Robert Klah

According to the Head of Communications and Public Events at Charterhouse, because of these delays, the red carpet segment had to be extended to give more time for attendees to arrive and get ready.

He clarified that the main event was originally scheduled to begin at 9:15 PM, but due to delays caused by late arrivals from some guests and participants, they had no choice but to push the start time to 10:00 PM.

Robert Klah’s insights provide a glimpse into the challenges and considerations that go into making such an event a success.
