In a bold stride toward digital inclusion, MTN Ghana is extending its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service to households across the country.
Stephen Blewett, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, underscored the significance of this move during a recent media and stakeholder forum held in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Blewett stated that the FTTH initiative is designed to respond to the increasing reliance of Ghanaian households on internet connectivity for education, business, communication, and entertainment.
“We have tailored our FTTH solutions to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Our FTTH service offers high-speed internet connectivity, reliable and stable connections, low latency for seamless online experiences, and flexible plans to suit various needs and budgets.”

The CEO further emphasized that the FTTH rollout is part of MTN’s broader digital agenda. “This initiative aligns with our overarching digital agenda aimed at bridging the digital divide and empowering individuals, businesses, and communities across Ghana,” he added.

With this initiative, MTN Ghana aims to bring more homes into the digital ecosystem, offering them a gateway to opportunities in remote work, online learning, e-commerce, and digital innovation.
Infrastructure Investment for the Future
Mr. Blewett also highlighted the critical role that infrastructure investment and network expansion play in enhancing customer experience and supporting business growth. He stressed that MTN’s commitment to connectivity goes hand-in-hand with its vision of fostering nationwide digital transformation.
MTN is intensifying its efforts to upgrade its 4G infrastructure, laying a foundation that will support advanced digital communication. “In 2025, approximately 130 kilometers of fiber infrastructure will be relocated to improve network resilience and significantly expand capacity,” Mr. Blewett revealed. This major upgrade is expected to ensure future-proof connectivity, supporting the development of next-generation services and applications.
The company’s ongoing infrastructure projects reflect a commitment to robust, resilient digital networks that can meet the evolving demands of Ghanaians.
As part of his visit to the Northern Region, Mr. Blewett led a delegation of MTN executives and management members in engaging a cross-section of key stakeholders. The visit, which forms part of MTN Ghana’s annual regional outreach program, is a platform to gather feedback on MTN’s operations and to share updates on service innovations.

Mr. Blewett paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, and held strategic discussions with media representatives from the Northern, Upper East, North East, and Savannah regions. He also met with MTN staff, visited the Tamale market, and interacted with the company’s trade partners to gain first-hand insights into local business and customer concerns.
Stakeholder-Centric Approach
These engagements underscore MTN’s customer- and stakeholder-centric approach. By directly connecting with regional stakeholders and customers, MTN not only addresses local connectivity challenges but also builds trust and rapport with the communities it serves.
Mr. Blewett’s presence and interaction with stakeholders demonstrate MTN’s proactive approach to feedback and its commitment to refining service delivery. Through such forums and regional visits, MTN Ghana continues to position itself as a leader in telecommunications, not only through technological advancement but also through inclusive community engagement.
As MTN Ghana prepares for the relocation and expansion of its fiber infrastructure in 2025, the company is charting a forward-looking path toward nationwide digital transformation. The FTTH initiative is expected to make a significant impact by enhancing internet access, improving quality of service, and enabling innovation across all sectors of the economy.
By investing in fiber connectivity and expanding its digital infrastructure, MTN Ghana is not just delivering internet services—it is empowering homes and businesses to thrive in the digital age.
