Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, has officially unveiled his multi-million dollar World-Class Automobile Museum in Accra, marking a historic moment as the first of its kind in West Africa and the third in Africa.
The museum, which took six years to complete, is envisioned as a space to celebrate innovation, automotive heritage, and the evolution of the global auto industry.
It draws inspiration from some of the world’s most iconic car museums, such as the Hollywood Auto Museum in Las Vegas, the Porsche Museum in Germany, and the British Motor Museum in the UK, all of which the Despite family visited during its planning phase.
The collection includes classic Bugattis, a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith LWB, multiple Bentleys, high-end Mercedes-Benz models, Jaguars, and Harley-Davidson motorbikes. It also features modern driving simulators to offer an immersive, hands-on experience for visitors.

The exclusive, strictly by invitation event saw the presence of prominent personalities including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, former MP Kennedy Agyapong, entrepreneur Nana Kwame Bediako ( Cheddar), and businessman Ibrahim Mahama. Members of the East Legon Executive Club and other distinguished guests also graced the occasion.
Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II looked dapper in a tailored suit to cut the ribbon at the high-profile event, underscoring its importance and its potential to boost the economy.
Asantehene Otumfuo arrived in style to commission Ghana’s first automobile museum in grand style.
The carefully curated space showcases a collection of some of the world’s most iconic automobiles, each with a unique legacy and a story to tell, bridging the past and future of motoring excellence.
Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s latest venture is not only a celebration of engineering marvels but also a bold step toward positioning Ghana as a hub for cultural and automotive tourism.
KOD Reflects on Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s Support

Kofi Okyere Darko, widely known as KOD and a prominent presidential staffer on Diaspora Affairs, recently opened up about his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming an award-winning media personality.
The media personality’s story included a significant chapter involving Ghanaian millionaire Dr. Osei Kwame Despite. However, KOD made a striking appearance at the official launch of Despite’s luxurious automobile museum.
Dressed in a fashionable long-sleeve lace shirt paired with crisp white trousers and sleek black shoes, KOD commanded attention at this high-profile gathering, celebrating Ghana’s rich automotive heritage.
KOD recounted how his passion for music and media was sparked by his early experiences working closely with Dr. Osei Kwame Despite. He reflected on his teenage years.
“I used to sell compact discs and cassettes for Despite at Daddy Lumba’s shop. That job during secondary school opened my eyes to the music industry and laid the foundation for my career. I was one of the quiet players involved in the initial stages, although I was also working at Radio Gold at the time, which prevented me from making a public appearance. Seeing how far he has come is nothing short of spectacular, and I still affectionately refer to him as Bra Osei. It truly is a testament to the success stories that emerge from Ghana.”

The couple sported coordinating outfits, with stylish white shirts and fashionable denim jeans. Gifty, a recognised style influencer, turned heads with her flawless centre-parted curly hairstyle, polished makeup, and chic accessories, including black Dolce & Gabbana shoes and a designer handbag.
