40 Customers Win Big as Societe Generale Deepens Savings Culture

Societe Generale Ghana has reiterated its commitment to advancing a culture of savings and investment among Ghanaians through initiatives that reward loyalty and promote financial responsibility.

The Bank’s latest initiative, the “Deposit and Drive Promotion,” has reached a significant milestone with the second draw successfully rewarding 40 customers from across the country with attractive prizes. These prizes included television sets, microwaves, and blenders.

Speaking at the draw, Kweku Tweneboah-Kodua, General Manager of Retail Banking at Societe Generale, noted that the campaign has outperformed expectations. “The promotion has exceeded the Bank’s expectations and it is a testament that its message is resonating with customers and the public,” he stated. He further emphasized the Bank’s vision to increase the country’s total savings-to-GDP ratio, recognizing that a robust savings culture is crucial for national development.

Recognizing the Collective Effort Behind the Success

Mr. Tweneboah-Kodua expressed gratitude to the team behind the promotion’s success, highlighting the contributions of both frontline and back-office staff. “We could not have done this without the support of my entire team, from the frontline branch staff to those working behind the scenes in the back offices,” he acknowledged. His remarks underscored the collaborative spirit driving the bank’s customer-centric initiatives.

The General Manager also encouraged customers to keep participating in the promotion for even bigger rewards.

“To our customers, we say there is still so much ahead to be won – trips to Singapore and Dubai, brand new laptops and phones. And of course, the all new and shiny Toyota Rav4 Adventure. So, continue to hold your deposits in your accounts and stand the chance of winning big!”

To ensure the integrity of the promotion, the National Lottery Authority (NLA) played a supervisory role in overseeing the draw. Beryl Adom, a representative from the NLA, commended Societe Generale for adhering to regulatory guidelines and safeguarding public trust. “As the institution mandated to regulate games of chance and promotions of this nature, the NLA is here to guarantee the credibility and legitimacy of the draw process,” she explained.

She noted that the NLA ensures that “every participant has a fair and equal chance, and that winners emerge based on a transparent process that reflects the highest ethical standards.” This endorsement by the regulatory body boosts public confidence in the legitimacy of the promotional campaign.

Ms. Adom also reaffirmed the NLA’s commitment to maintaining fairness and accountability in all promotional activities in Ghana. “Together, we can build a nation where institutions are trusted, and the public is protected and empowered,” she added.

Collaboration with SanlamAllianz to Broaden Impact

In a related development, SanlamAllianz, an insurance partner, also rewarded five customers as part of their “Insure and Win” promotion. Prizes ranged from a luxurious weekend stay at Safari Valley Resort to free servicing for a year and brand-new vehicle tyres. These rewards complement Societe Generale’s efforts and point to a growing collaboration between banking and insurance sectors to promote financial inclusion and customer loyalty.

The momentum surrounding the “Deposit and Drive Promotion” is expected to culminate in a grand draw scheduled for September 2025. With high-value prizes such as international travel packages, premium electronic devices, and the coveted Toyota Rav4 Adventure still up for grabs, the promotion continues to energize and reward both new and existing customers.

Societe Generale’s strategy not only incentivizes savings but also builds lasting relationships with its customers. By combining tangible rewards with a strong message of financial empowerment and regulatory compliance, the bank is demonstrating leadership in transforming Ghana’s financial services landscape.

As anticipation builds for the grand draw, Ghanaians are encouraged to keep saving, stay engaged, and aim for the top prizes that await in this landmark promotion.
