Kuami Eugene’s Bold Haircut Signals Split From Lynx Entertainment

Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian singer and songwriter Kuami Eugene has reiterated that his visit to the Volta Region before his rise to fame was solely for evangelism, pushing back against speculations and misconceptions surrounding his earlier remarks.

Kuami Eugene, in an interview, attributed a turning point in his life and career to the period following his return from Volta.

According to him, the spiritual activities and prayers he engaged in during his time there may have played a role in opening doors for him.

However, speaking in a recent interview, the “Angela” hitmaker said he was surprised by the public’s reaction to his earlier comment about his trip to the region, stressing that his mission at the time was purely religious.

“I think that stereotyping is very wrong. Because what I was doing in Volta was practically evangelism — that was then. We were doing churches. So we did Afiadenyigba, we did Atiavi, and Keta before I came back to Accra. I was basically talking about the fact that maybe from the prayers, that triggered a lot of things, because as soon as I got back to Accra, everything started falling in place.”

His comment, however, sparked speculation on social media, with some users suggesting that the musician may have visited the region for spiritual assistance, a stereotype Kuami Eugene strongly condemned.

“It’s unfortunate how people stereotype the Volta Region as a place only known for spiritual powers. Many didn’t even watch the full interview — they just picked one part and ran with it.”

The sensational Ghanaian musician confirmed that he is in a relationship, and he spoke about the reason she was overprotective of him.

Kuami stated that he has a girlfriend who is indeed overprotective of him.

The host noted that she met the young lady, but even though she did not interact with her, one thing she noticed was her eye contact and how they would speak without her having to say a thing.

The ‘Belinda’ hitmaker confirmed the statements the host of the show said about his lover and noted that he was indeed technically off the market.

The singer opened up about how she was embracing his responsibilities as a musician, explaining that she had to because he was already into music before she came into his life. “With all the pros and cons that come with it, she has to,” he said.

The former Lynx Entertainment signee stated that his girlfriend does not appear on the set of his music videos because she would not enjoy it.

He further explained that if she were to join her on set, they would not find peace, adding that she is a woman. He said that there are instances where she would promise him that she would be calm, but he was aware that it would not be the case.

The Ghanaian highlife musician expressed his dissatisfaction about a comment social media sensation Archipalago recently made about him.

The ‘Monica’ hitmaker responded to recent remarks by Archipalago, who had labelled him as “disrespectful”.

Archipalago had stated that the singer once refused to speak to him over the phone when he [Archipalago] attempted to reach out for a music collaboration through a radio presenter.

Kuami, therefore, dismissed the accusation and explained the circumstances under which he declined the call. He said he had gone for a radio interview, after the show, Archipalago called through the presenter to speak to him.

“After the interview, I was going back to my hotel, and the presenter said I should drop her off on the way. While we were going to drop her off, Archipalago called her to say that he heard I was in the studio, and that he had a song he wanted to do with me, so she should give the phone to me so he could talk to me. And I said I wouldn’t talk to him.”

He clarified that he was already on a call with his mother at the time and did not appreciate the pressure to switch conversations.

“He wanted me to cut the call with my mum and talk to him. And I said I wouldn’t do that. The lady even told him I was doing something, so I would call back. I don’t know if he didn’t hear that well.”

Kuami further mentioned that Archipalago went on to criticise him on X (formerly Twitter) following the incident, which deepened the rift. “Since then, anytime he hears my issue, he is angry. I pray he doesn’t have a heart attack,” he added.

In the meantime, the award-winning musician has released a new song titled ‘Do Better’, a reflective track that urges personal growth and maturity in difficult times.
