Nollywood star Jim Iyke has responded to criticism of his contentious birthday homage to his coworker Kate Henshaw, stating that there was “nothing absolutely sexual about it.”
Jim Iyke explained that the Instagram post, which included graphic language and recalled previous love sentiments for Henshaw, was a “wordplay” communicated from a position of mutual understanding and extreme comfort.
“I meant everything I said in that post. I rarely say something I don’t mean. I don’t waste words. My words are my bond. I have known this person for over two decades of my life. We have grown as friends and as brother and sister.”

He clarified that the offensive language was just their special method of expressing love, highlighting the fact that such gestures are typical in their close connection.
“What happened was a wordplay that was told in a place of a comfort zone that only two people or fewer can cohabitate… I know the feeling is mutual. There’s nothing absolutely sexual about it [the birthday tribute]. It doesn’t even suggest someone I’m dating.”

Jim Iyke went on to say that too many individuals misread his post and gave it their interpretation. He claimed that “people threw it into realms that had nothing to do with it.”
He stated that he does not live by the opinions of others and that he does not owe anyone an explanation. He said, “I spoke as only I can speak. It’s all your business, however you interpret it.”
The award-winning Nigerian actor also encouraged men to find a female friend devoid of sexual tendencies or feelings who they can rock with, confide in, and share their vulnerability with.
He explained that women are blessed with an intuition to listen and accommodate men’s challenges that ordinarily they won’t share with fellow men and offer advice without judgment – something he said men will hitherto perceive as weakness.
Jim Iyke said that in finding such a female friend, men must ensure there are no sexualities involved; otherwise, ulterior motives may corrupt the truth of the advice sought from the female friend.
Jim Iyke Makes Claims About Food

The Nollywood actor made some bold claims about food and how nutrition works.
Despite not having a background in food and nutritional science, the movie star claimed that the human body was designed to eat only once daily.
He described food as a “scam,” claiming that society exaggerates feeding. He explained that he eats once daily and doesn’t like being overfed because he functions better when he is hungry.
“I eat once a day. Food sounds like a disruptor for me. Once I eat, it’s downhill. I think my energy is pure and unbridled when I don’t eat. So, sometimes, I don’t want to share that space with food. Because food would begin to weigh me down, I would begin to enjoy it and send signals to my head that the day is ending, and I need to sleep.
“Then your subconsciousness takes over with the manipulation and begins to tell you, you’ve tried today, you’ve eaten, take some time off. Food is a scam. The human body is designed to eat just once a day. And of course, what you eat defines everything. The law of commutative effect will catch up with you every time you eat something wrong.”
Jim Iyke
Contrary to Jim Iyke’s claims, there’s no scientific evidence that the human body is designed to eat just once a day.
Most experts recommend three meals a day with snacks in between if needed.
