Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about his fame, passion for music, and how he would handle life if he woke up one day as an ordinary man.
In an interview, the singer revealed what he thinks he’d be doing if he weren’t famous. “I hope I still have the same passion, I’d probably try again…but it depends on my age,” he responded.
The ‘With You’ singer also highlighted a part of his journey that money could never buy: the genuine love of his fans.
“One flex I have that money didn’t buy us natural love from my fans. You can’t buy that type of love. I’ve had fans come from far away and concerts range from new fans to the old fans; my catalogue is huge.”

Reflecting on his career so far, he shared what he would tell his younger self if given the chance.
“If I could tell younger Davido anything, it’d be, ‘It’s going to be a long journey, many ups and downs, smiles and frowns, but you’d get there. When we first started, obviously, the dream wasn’t this big at all. That’s how God works’.”

These new comments follow his now-viral declaration, where he boldly stated that if he were to end his music career, he’d be fine because he had billions of dollars waiting for him.
“I’m regretting to myself for being hardworking. I’m telling you mehn, there’s individual strength and mental ability that goes into this type of work. There are a lot of odds against me… I’ve got billions of dollars waiting for me.”

Though the statement stirred debate online, some called it bragging, others said it was motivation, and fans still largely agreed that Davido’s hustle, despite his wealthy background, sets him apart.
Davido Takes Action on Iyabo Ojo

The Nigerian singer reportedly reacted to the allegation made by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman.
Verydarkman had shared a screenshot of a message Iyabo Ojo sent in the controversial WhatsApp group, where she and others are fighting for Mohbad.
Many were unhappy about the leaked chat and criticised the mother of two for her remarks.
In response, Davido immediately unfollowed Queen Mother, as she is fondly called. Checks across the social media pages of both celebrities show that Davido is no longer following Iyabo Ojo. However, Ojo is still following the ‘Awuke’ crooner.
Fans of both celebrities are divided over Davido’s move. Many supported Davido, noting that they, too, dislike fake friends who badmouth them behind their backs.

Others, however, considered the Afrobeats sensation’s move childish and chastised him for such an act, arguing that he, too, might have spoken ill of others in the past.
Recall that VDM had in the past slammed Davido and some other singers about their music in the past. Though he didn’t say it to his face, he boldly stated that he had confronted him face to face about such a lifestyle.
“And this is what that boy wants, jamming heads to together and it will take away sensible person not to fall for his gimmicks.”
