Abokobi Rural Bank Bank Records An Impressive 330% Jump in Profit

Advans Ghana Savings and Loans has delivered a jaw-dropping financial performance in the first half of 2025, reporting a 400% surge in profits compared to the same period last year.

The institution’s net profit skyrocketed from GH¢5.4 million in H1 2024 to GH¢23.1 million in H1 2025, a feat that has stunned the market and reaffirmed Advans Ghana’s position as a powerhouse in inclusive finance.

This extraordinary growth has been attributed to a well-executed accelerated growth strategy, disciplined cost management, and enhanced operational efficiency. According to the management, these strategic pillars have enabled the company to maximise revenue streams while maintaining prudent expense control.

Lending Boom Fuels Growth

At the heart of Advans Ghana’s financial leap is its aggressive lending drive, particularly targeted at micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). In the first half of 2025 alone, the company disbursed over GH¢408 million in loans to more than 7,500 MSMEs, representing a 59% increase year-on-year.

The Gross Loan Portfolio grew by an impressive 72% to reach GH¢473 million by the end of June 2025. Notably, 37% of these loans went to first-time borrowers, underscoring Advans Ghana’s mission to extend financial access to those traditionally excluded from mainstream banking services.

The surge in lending directly translated into robust revenue growth. Net interest income climbed by 59%, driven by higher loan volumes and improved yield management. Non-funded income — derived from fees and commissions — rose by 20% due to increased client activity and cross-product engagement.

The company’s balance sheet also showed remarkable strength, with total assets growing by 46% year-on-year to GH¢627.7 million. This asset expansion reflects not only the success of the lending strategy but also the strong confidence that shareholders and clients have in Advans Ghana’s stability and long-term prospects.

Deposit Growth Signals Public Trust

Client deposits saw a 57% year-on-year increase, signalling growing public trust in Advans Ghana’s services. This surge was supported by the institution’s expanding digital presence, with digital transactions rising by 40%.

A key factor In this digital growth was the successful launch of the MyAdvans App, which allows clients to check balances, manage accounts, and carry out transactions securely from anywhere in Ghana. The app has significantly improved customer convenience and strengthened the company’s relationship with its over 142,000 active clients nationwide.

In line with its inclusive finance mandate, Advans Ghana has continued to make significant strides in empowering women entrepreneurs. Women-led businesses now represent 61% of its total client base.

Through its flagship AdvansHER initiative, the institution provided financial literacy training to over 100 women entrepreneurs across the country during the first half of 2025. This initiative not only supports women’s business growth but also promotes broader economic empowerment and social progress.

CEO’s Statement on Success

Commenting on the results, Guillaume Valence, MD/CEO of Advans Ghana, praised the dedication of the team.

“This achievement has been made possible by the exceptional dedication and hard work of every member of our team. Their collective efforts have reinforced our leadership in financial inclusion and significantly extended our outreach — ensuring that more entrepreneurs across Ghana gain access to the financial tools and support they need to thrive. We are confident that we will continue to build a more inclusive financial future for all, while delivering even greater value to our stakeholders.”

Guillaume Valence

Advans Ghana remains committed to deepening its presence across the country. With operations currently spanning 19 branches in eight regions, the institution plans to open two additional branches before the year ends. This expansion will further strengthen its reach into urban, peri-urban, and rural communities.

The company also intends to continue leveraging technology to enhance service delivery, expand loan access, and promote financial inclusion — especially among underserved groups. Its emphasis on MSME lending, digital innovation, and gender inclusion positions it for sustained growth in the second half of the year.
