Gospel musician Selina Boateng has opened up about one of the more bizarre experiences of her career, revealing how a pastor refused to pay her for a ministration and has evaded her calls for three years.
The celebrated gospel artist said the incident happened at a church in Tema Community 25, where she ministered back-to-back with the assurance that she would be “sorted out” financially.
However, after the performance, the pastor only asked for her mobile money number and sent her away without paying her.
“To date, I haven’t received my money. Anytime I call him, he starts speaking in tongues and says he is praying, promising to get back to me. It’s been three years now.”

She added that even when a colleague called on her behalf, the pastor employed the same prayer strategy.
Selina shared this ordeal while speaking about the setbacks gospel artists face in the industry, particularly the lack of respect for their craft.
She further recounted how, at the start of her career, some producers attempted to take advantage of her before she finally broke into the mainstream.
Despite such challenges, the award-winning singer stressed her commitment to her ministry, noting that gospel musicians deserve equal recognition and fair treatment for their work, like secular musicians are recognized.
Selina Boateng on Hitting The Gym

The gospel singer stated that she does not go to the gym to lose weight, but rather to be healthy and preserve her physique.
Selina spoke about body-shaming insults that have dogged her for years. She claims she has become accustomed to them and sometimes even laughs at them.
“I have no intention of losing weight,” she stressed. “I just want to maintain my body and keep it in shape.”
Selina further noted that because she thinks God made her beautiful, she is unmoved by trolls on social media.
The gospel singer has already addressed those who made fun of her girth after videos of her straining to stand up during a praise session went viral.
She claimed at the time that she wasn’t ashamed since she was more concerned with God than with what other people thought.
Alpha and Omega, which features Uncle Ato, Menku Meho, Medofo Pa, and Eda Papa, is one of Selina Boateng’s well-known hits. She is now regarded as one of Ghana’s most esteemed gospel singers thanks to her music.

The idea that exercise is only worthwhile if it results in a lower number on the scale is both narrow and outdated. Numerous studies have shown that regular physical activity, regardless of weight loss, leads to a reduced risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
Cardiovascular health, lung capacity, bone density, and joint flexibility all benefit from consistent workouts, whether they involve lifting weights, running on a treadmill, or attending a dance class.
For someone going to the gym to preserve their physique and stay healthy, these long-term health benefits are far more meaningful than the temporary satisfaction of losing a few pounds.
Choosing to go to the gym not to lose weight, but to preserve one’s physique and health, reflects a more balanced and empowering approach to fitness.
It acknowledges that human bodies are more than objects to be sculpted—they are instruments that carry individuals through life. Health, confidence, strength, and mental clarity are all outcomes of regular physical activity that deserve just as much celebration as dropping a dress size.
By embracing this perspective, individuals—especially women— reclaim the gym as a space of self-respect, not self-correction.
