NPA Boss Urges Gaso Petroleum to Prioritise Customer Service

Gaso Petroleum

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), has urged Gaso Petroleum to place customer satisfaction at the heart of its operations as the company expands its footprint across Ghana.

Speaking at the launch of Gaso Petroleum’s new ultra-modern service station in Ashaiman, Mr. Tameklo commended the company for its rapid growth and technological innovation since its establishment in 2015.

He emphasised, however, that long-term success in Ghana’s competitive downstream petroleum sector would depend on how well companies serve and retain their customers.

The NPA boss highlighted the wider economic impact of the new service station, noting that its operations would create much-needed jobs for young people in Ashaiman.

He linked this to the government’s proposed 24-hour economy initiative, which aims to boost productivity and reduce unemployment by encouraging businesses to operate in continuous shifts.

“With a station of this nature, if you must run a shift, it means that you will need more hands, which means more employment for young people.

“I want to believe that the promoters of this station will work with the district assembly and the police to ensure that whatever you do will conform with the laws of this country.”

He further encouraged Gaso Petroleum to maintain high safety and operational standards, assuring that the NPA will continue to monitor compliance across the industry to ensure value for money for consumers.

The event also attracted industry leaders, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), Dr. Riverson Oppong, who praised Gaso Petroleum for its consistency and resilience in a highly competitive sector.

“Today we have more than 200 OMCs, and to be in the top ten means that you know what you are about.

‘”We are looking for companies that are vertically integrated, and Gaso stands out.”

Dr. Riverson Oppong, Chief Executive Officer of COMAC

His remarks underscored the significance of Gaso Petroleum’s achievement, positioning the company as one of Ghana’s leading oil marketing companies within just a decade of operations.

“We see what Gaso is doing, and I believe that it is just the beginning. Others can learn from you because you have become an example for upcoming OMCs.”

For his part, the Managing Director of Gaso Petroleum, Isaac Asante, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality service and competitive pricing.

He assured customers that Gaso Petroleum remains focused on innovation and excellence to meet the evolving needs of consumers.

“We are ready to offer quality premium services and competitive prices to serve the needs of our cherished customers.

“We will ensure that customers get the best experience through the services we offer at this station.”

He also pledged the company’s readiness to partner with government on the 24-hour economy agenda, noting that several of its fuel stations would be open around the clock to serve customers.

The newly inaugurated Ashaiman service station is Gaso Petroleum’s 56th outlet across Ghana since its establishment in 2015. The facility features a lube bay, convenience shop, office spaces, and a food court, offering customers a holistic service experience beyond fuel supply.

The station has already drawn attention for its modern design, integration of advanced technology, and the promise of reliable customer service.

Industry observers believe the expansion reflects a broader transformation in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector, where competition is driving innovation and improving standards.

With Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector becoming increasingly competitive, the expansion of service stations like Gaso Petroleum’s Ashaiman branch is seen as critical for both economic growth and consumer satisfaction.

The company’s focus on customer service, compliance, and employment creation resonates strongly with national policy objectives, particularly the government’s ambition to implement a 24-hour economy.
