The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused the international community of failing to act to prevent what it said were “crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation” in Gaza, warning that Palestinians are also facing “financial and economic strangulation.”
In a statement shared on X, the ministry said that it “views with utmost seriousness the continued international failure not only to stop the crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation.”
The ministry stated that international “indifference” to the theft of Palestinian funds and the collapse of the economy had reached “alarming levels.”

It called for an immediate international response, urging governments to release Palestinian tax revenues and provide urgent financial relief.
“The Ministry demands a genuine international effort to release the Palestinian people’s funds, and to urgently provide a financial safety net and support to enhance the resilience of citizens and their steadfastness on their homeland’s soil.”

This came as the Head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, Ismail al-Thawabta, warned that the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip is a direct consequence of Israel’s actions, which the international community has a “legal and moral obligation” to halt.
“Statements and international positions will remain ink on paper unless actual measures are taken to pressure the occupation to end the siege.”
Ismail al-Thawabta
Speaking to a news agency, Al-Thawabta asserted that famine – which a UN-backed global watchdog found to be spreading in Gaza – had been a “systematic policy” used by Israel to weaken Palestinians’ resistance and force their mass displacement.
He added that both the use of starvation as a weapon and mass displacement amount to war crimes and must be prevented under international law.

Separately, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees disclosed that since Israel stopped all deliveries of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to Gaza on March 2, “lifesaving aid” – including food, medicines and hygiene supplies – is still being banned from entering the Strip.
UNRWA called on Israel to “lift the siege” and let humanitarian organisations bring in aid, which has been accumulating on the boundaries of Gaza.
A United Nations-backed global hunger monitor concluded last month that famine is now occurring in Gaza City and its surrounding area and is projected to spread across the Strip unless humanitarian aid is brought in at scale.
Israel Accused Of Holding Record Number Of Palestinian Children Without Charge Or Trial
Meanwhile, data from the Israel Prison Service (IPS) shows 360 Palestinian children were detained as of June 30, the highest figure since 2016.
Forty-one percent of the children are held under administrative detention – imprisonment without charge or trial – the highest number and proportion since DCIP began monitoring in 2008.
Ayed Abu Eqtaish, Accountability Program Director at DCIP, “Every month since October 2023, Israeli forces have rapidly expanded their use of administrative detention to target Palestinian children.”
“These children are languishing in overcrowded Israeli prisons, fed rotten food, and beaten on a daily basis by Israeli guards, all while they are completely isolated from the outside world, including from their families and lawyers. They must all be released immediately.”
Ayed Abu Eqtaish
IPS delayed publishing second-quarter data by more than two months. Since October 2023, Israel has suspended family visits, blocked Red Cross access, and sharply restricted lawyers.
DCIP said that children also face torture and degrading conditions in military facilities excluded from IPS data, such as Huwara and Sde Teiman.
