Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his reasons for not blocking online trolls despite the persistent stream of negative comments directed at him.
Taking to his official X account, the award-winning singer and father of five disclosed that he deliberately avoids blocking critics because he wants them to continue seeing his progress and success.
According to Davido, shutting them out would deprive them of the chance to witness how far he is going in his career and personal life. “Me I no dey block, I wan make you dey see my doings, but I go curse your papa,” he said.
The singer further clarified that while he has no problem with people monitoring his moves, he will not hesitate to strongly clap back at those who cross the line with their attacks.
Davido’s response has since stirred mixed reactions online, with many fans praising his confidence and resilience, while others noted that the star continues to attract attention not just for his music but also for his witty social media comebacks.
Davido Wants a Warri Chieftaincy Title

The Nigerian music superstar once again set social media buzzing after jokingly declaring his desire for a chieftaincy title in Warri.
The singer, whose global fame continues to intersect with Nigeria’s cultural heritage, made the playful remark in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Davido tweeted: “I need chieftaincy for Warri …,” sharing the words alongside an image of himself holding flowers. The lighthearted update immediately drew thousands of reactions, from humorous quips to genuine calls for him to be honored in the oil-rich city.
Responses on X highlighted Nigerians’ unique blend of humor and cultural pride. User @deezannee wrote: “Am from Warri, I will give you sir,” while @Toluwase_x teased, “@davido wetin you need na Grammy.” Another fan, @DavidoPolice, added: “Pressure anybody OGO.”
Videos and memes also flooded the platform. One post by @SosaOfTogo showed a mock clip captioned “Olu of Warri ~ Davido”, reimagining the star as a traditional ruler.
Warri, located in Delta State, is a major petroleum hub with deep cultural traditions among the Urhobo, Ijaw, and Itsekiri peoples. Chieftaincy titles in Nigeria are centuries-old institutions, legally recognized by the government and often bestowed on individuals of influence or service.
Over the years, traditional titles have extended beyond local communities to notable figures, including former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
In recent decades, even non-indigenous and diaspora communities have received similar honors, such as the appointment of the Eze Igbo of Kano in 1988 and the Wakilin Yan China for the Chinese community in 2019.
Davido Clears Air On Viral Slap Video

The Nigerian music star explained the truth behind a viral video showing him being hit on the head during his recent trip to Warri, Delta State.
The video, which circulated widely online, had sparked rumours that he was attacked by an overzealous fan while leaving a nightclub after performing at a wedding in the city.
Reacting on his official X handle, Davido dismissed the claims of an attack and clarified that it was actually one of his security personnel who accidentally struck him while trying to protect him in the crowd.
He urged fans not to misinterpret the incident, assuring them that there was no cause for alarm. The award-winning singer was in Warri over the weekend, where he thrilled guests at a wedding ceremony before later making an appearance at a popular nightclub in the area.
In the trending clip, Davido appeared startled as he was struck on the head while leaving the club. The incident quickly sparked online reactions, with many social media users speculating that he had been attacked by an overzealous fan.
However, taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Davido dismissed the claims, explaining that it was not a fan but one of his security personnel who accidentally hit him. “That was my security,” the singer wrote, setting the record straight and reassuring fans that there was no cause for alarm.
