Shatta Wale called for unity among Ghanaians and Africans following news that his latest project, Street Crown, has been officially approved by the Grammy Academy for consideration in the Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
Announcing the milestone on Wednesday, October 1, the Melissa hitmaker took to social media to express gratitude and pride, describing the achievement as a win not just for himself but for the entire African Dancehall movement. “This moment is not just about me; it’s about Ghana, Africa, and every fan of African Dancehall. From the streets to the world stage, our sound and culture now stand on the biggest platforms,” he wrote.
In a follow-up message, Shatta Wale addressed his fellow Ghanaians, urging them to embrace collaboration over rivalry and to recognize the collective potential within the continent’s music industry. “Let us not make the mistake of losing this opportunity for another international breakthrough,” he cautioned.

Renowned Ghanaian musician Fameye publicly appealed to rapper Medikal to link him up with dancehall star Shatta Wale, revealing that the artiste has been unresponsive to him for several months.
In an X post on Monday, October 6, Fameye disclosed that though he and Shatta Wale were once on very good terms, communication has broken down, leaving him puzzled and concerned.
“My brother Medikal you for carry me go meet Shatta Wale for house cos he’s gone completely mute on me for months. We used to be super cool, he no go fit vex me like that? Wey ien fans no dey gimme peace anytime I comment under his post! Come to think of it I have not met Wale in person before.”
