These awards reflect the company’s unwavering dedication to creating inclusive and sustainable retirement solutions for all Ghanaians, especially within the informal sector.

Leadership That Inspires Growth

The 2025 edition also celebrated the human stories behind corporate excellence. The Exemplary Leadership Award (Rural Bank) went to Benjamin Afful-Eshun, CEO of Ahantaman Rural Bank Plc, whose visionary leadership has propelled the bank to sustained profitability and community development.

Similarly, Henry Kweku Yankson, CEO of Ankobra West Rural Bank Plc, was honoured as CEO of the Year (Rural Bank) for his forward-thinking management and focus on financial discipline. Their recognition underscored the critical role rural banks play in promoting financial inclusion and supporting Ghana’s grassroots economy.

This year’s GAFA ceremony shone a spotlight on rural banks and microfinance institutions driving access to finance in underserved communities. Amenfiman Rural Bank Plc emerged as Rural Bank of the Year, reflecting its success in extending financial services to small businesses and rural households.

Bessfa Rural Bank Plc took home Brand of the Year (Rural Bank), while Odotobri Rural Bank Plc received the Outstanding Customer Service Award (Rural Bank). Insurance, Pensions, and Investment Excellence

Beyond the headline winners, other leading firms in the pensions and insurance sectors also received recognition for excellence. The insurance industry also saw impressive performances. StarLife Assurance Ltd won Innovative Life Insurance Company of the Year, applauded for introducing customer-focused life insurance products tailored to evolving market needs. Glico Health Insurance Ltd was crowned Best Health Insurance Company of the Year, reaffirming its leadership in providing reliable healthcare coverage.

GAFA 2025 also acknowledged the finance professionals who drive efficiency and accountability behind the scenes. The Bank Hospital, B5 Plus Limited, and Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City each won Finance Team of the Year awards in the Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Hospitality categories respectively. Ramoth Services Limited received the honour in the Mining Support category, demonstrating financial management excellence across diverse sectors.

In recognition of capacity-building efforts, Rakes Company Limited was awarded Learning and Development Company of the Year for its dedication to advancing professional training and leadership within Ghana’s financial industry.

Organisers of the Ghana Accountancy and Finance Awards praised the financial industry’s resilience amid global economic headwinds. They noted that the 2025 edition emphasised the vital roles of technology, governance, and innovation in sustaining growth and inclusion.

In their closing remarks, organisers stated, “The achievements we celebrate tonight are not just individual or institutional milestones — they represent the collective resilience of Ghana’s financial ecosystem.”
