Heath Goldfield Confirms Death of 3 ‘galamseyers’ in Prestea-Bogoso Mine

The management of Heath Goldfield, the operators of the Prestea-Bogoso Gold Mine, has confirmed the unfortunate loss of three lives in an incident involving illegal miners, locally known as “galamseyers,” who had infiltrated the company’s concession.

Heath Goldfields in its official press statement, updated the public and industry stakeholders on this unfortunate incident involving a group of these illegal miners who according to the company, secretly  infiltrated and were trapped within an inactive area of its underground workings on the Prestea concession.

“Preliminary reports indicate that these individuals used unauthorized routes to access a restricted area of the Mine, leading to the tragic loss of 3 lives,” Heath Goldfield revealed.
