Kasapreko PLC has announced a refund of approximately GH¢740 million to investors after its highly anticipated Initial Public Offer (IPO) was oversubscribed by an astonishing 146 percent.
The leading beverage manufacturer successfully raised GH¢700 million through the issuance of 583,333,333 new ordinary shares at GH¢1.20 per share. However, the overwhelming response from investors pushed total subscriptions to about GH¢1.73 billion, more than double the amount the company initially sought to raise.
The extraordinary investor appetite has sent a strong signal about confidence in both Kasapreko’s business model and Ghana’s capital markets, setting the stage for what many market watchers believe could be one of the most significant stock market debuts in recent years.
Nearly 19,000 Investors Chase Kasapreko Shares
According to details released by the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), the offer attracted bids from 18,781 qualified applicants from various investor categories.
The sheer scale of participation demonstrates the widespread appeal of the company, which has grown from a local beverage producer into one of Ghana’s most recognized manufacturing brands.
With demand significantly exceeding the available shares, Kasapreko’s Board of Directors approved a uniform allocation rate of 40.56 percent across all investor categories. This means every applicant received only a portion of the shares they applied for.
All successful allocations were credited to investors’ Central Securities Depository (CSD) accounts on Friday, June 5, 2026, ensuring a smooth settlement process ahead of the company’s official stock market debut.
GH¢740 Million Refund Process Completed
The oversubscription means thousands of investors paid for more shares than they were ultimately allotted.
As a result, Kasapreko is refunding approximately GH¢740 million to applicants. Each refund represents the difference between the amount paid by investors and the value of the shares actually allocated to them.
The refund exercise is expected to be completed by Thursday, June 11, 2026.
While refunds of this magnitude often indicate that investors missed out on securing their full desired allocation, they also underscore the extraordinary demand generated by the offer.
Market analysts view the development as a positive sign that investor confidence is returning strongly to Ghana’s equities market.

Historic Moment for Ghana’s Capital Markets
Board Chairman Samuel Leslie Adetola described the outcome as a landmark achievement for both Kasapreko and Ghana’s investment landscape.
“The exceptional investor response to Kasapreko’s Initial Public Offer is a testament to the depth of confidence that both local and international investors have placed in this Company and its long-term prospects. To have attracted nearly GH¢1.73 billion in subscriptions more than twice the amount we sought to raise from over 18,000 applicants across all investor categories is a truly historic outcome for Kasapreko and for Ghana’s capital markets.”

He also expressed appreciation to investors who participated in the offer and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and strong corporate governance.
According to him, the company is eager to welcome its new shareholders as it enters a new era as a publicly listed company.
A New Chapter for a Ghanaian Success Story
For Kasapreko’s Managing Director, Richard Adjei, the IPO represents more than a successful fundraising exercise. It marks a defining moment in the evolution of a homegrown Ghanaian company.
“Today marks a defining milestone in the journey of a company that was built in Ghana, for Ghana, and is now ready to make its mark on a much larger stage. The overwhelming success of this IPO reflects not only the strength of our brand and the resilience of our business model, but also the trust that investors both Ghanaian and international have placed in our team and our vision.”
Adjei highlighted the company’s impressive growth trajectory, noting that Kasapreko has evolved into a GH¢3.5 billion revenue business through innovation, disciplined execution, and a relentless focus on consumers.
He explained that the proceeds from the IPO will support the company’s next phase of expansion, including increasing production capacity and accelerating growth in international markets.
Eyes on June 15 Trading Debut
Investor attention is now shifting toward June 15, 2026, when Kasapreko’s shares officially begin trading on the Equities Market of the Ghana Stock Exchange.
The company will trade under the symbol KASA with ISIN GHEKCPI00011.
Given the unprecedented demand witnessed during the offer period, many investors will be closely watching the stock’s performance when trading opens at 10:00 a.m.
For Kasapreko, the listing represents the culmination of years of growth and strategic expansion. For investors, it offers an opportunity to participate in the future of one of Ghana’s most successful indigenous manufacturing companies.
As excitement builds ahead of the market debut, one thing is already clear: Kasapreko’s IPO has captured the imagination of investors and delivered a powerful statement about confidence in Ghanaian enterprise.
