Samba Foods Plc (Samba) has announced for the information of the general investing public the appointment of new Directors and Company Secretary to replace the old Directors whose term of office have expired.
The new directors will meanwhile, be expected to give a new sense of urgency to boost the company’s earnings and performance on the stock market.
Currently, Samba food limited is listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) under the consumer goods sector. Samba Foods is traded on the GSE under the ticker symbol “SAMBA”. Samba Foods Limited is currently the 36th most valuable stock on the GSE with a market capitalization of GHS 3.29 million, which is about 0.0048% of the Ghana Stock Exchange equity market.
The last time the company took part in trading session on the local bourse was Wednesday, October 12, 2022. SAMBA closed its trading day at the time at GHS0.55 per share on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE). Unfortunately, it has gone into hibernation since that session and has not recorded any trading activity till today.
With the appointment of new faces to the company, things might turn out differently a bit this time.
The new board of directors are as follows: Mr. Alexander Banful – Chairman; Dr. Joseph NyarkoteI Dorh – Member; Dr. Mrs. Leticia Osafo-Addo – Member; Mrs. Yvonne Elsie Baffour-Kwakye – Member; Mr. Evans Arhin – Member; Mr. Samuel Annor Ronna – Secretary.
Profile of New Board Members
Dr. Mrs. Leticia Benewah Osafo-Addo, age 71, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SAMBA FOODS LIMITED. She is a specialist anesthetist nurse, an entrepreneur and a motivational speaker. She holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship, Trade and Commerce from Alfred Noble University, Ukraine, M.B.A in Management Technology and Innovation, Wageningen Agricultural University.
Dr. Mrs. Leticia Osafo-Addo has over the years been serving on the board of many international and local institutions as well as NGOs. She is currently a council member of Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) Wa, council member of the Ghana Stock Exchange, Chairperson of Vocational Training for Female Board of Directors, Chairperson of the National Advisory Committee of the 2scale project – A Dutch- Funded Project entitled “Toward Sustainable Clusters in 2 Agribusiness through learning in Entrepreneurship”, a member of the Advisory panel of African Guarantee Fund – Denmark.
Mr. Alexander Banful, age 68, is the immediate retired Managing Director of GSMF International, a Ghanaian private non-profit organization that is skilled in the use of Social Marketing and other Behaviour Change techniques to motivate and empower families and individuals to achieve an improved quality of life. He served in this position from 1993-2022.
He has over 40 years of experience working in the private sector in Ghana in a variety of industries including health, hygiene, agriculture, communications, computers, banking, production, consumer product, and contraceptive social marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in leadership and Governance.
Mr. Alexander Banful has several years of experience in working on public /private sector initiatives in Health, Sanitation, Enterprise, and entrepreneurial development. Alex’s s several years of experience in Behaviour Change Communication has revolved around the development, implementation, and successful management of various National health behavioural change campaigns.
Dr. Joseph Nyarkotei Dorh is the Managing Director of Prime Insurance Company Limited. He is ultimately responsible for the strategic direction and executive leadership of the Company. He joined Prime Insurance in 2013 after holding numerous management roles and working in almost all the technical units of a Non-Life Insurance Company.
He was previously, Manager in charge of the Broker Relations Unit at Star Assurance Company Limited. He started his career in the Insurance industry from Enterprise Insurance Company Limited in 2000, having had a stint in the classroom at Accra Academy Senior Secondary as a Mathematics and General Science tutor.
Yvonne Elsie Baffour-Kwakye started her career as an Administrative Assistant during her national service in 2013 after which she joined Prime Insurance Company Limited in 2015 as an Executive Assistant to the Executive Management team and Board of Directors. She soon doubled as an Assistant to the Head of Human Resources & Administration thus participating in executing human resource functions and administrative tasks and has risen through the ranks to the position of Deputy Manager, Human Resources & Administration.
Elsie’s work over the past decade has seen her gain first-hand business management and leadership skills through her close work with company leadership at all levels.
Evans Arhin is an investment professional with extensive knowledge of Ghana’s financial market with several years of experience in business development, financial management, corporate finance and investment advisory with over 10 years working experience. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration (Accounting Option) and Diploma in Business Administration (Management Option) both from Central University, He also holds Executive certificate in Pension Fund Management from Africa University College of Communication Studies.
Evans has undertaken a number of courses towards improving his competence and skills in his professional field of work, which include Investment Advisory from Ghana Stock Exchange, ISACA Certification programme, Certificate in Tax and Internal Audit from KPMG and Financial Modeling from Index Cap. He has also attended a number of seminars and training to improve in his career.
