However, the residency of President Akufo Addo is all set to address the media immediately after the Electoral Commissioner officially declares who the next president of the republic is.

Nonetheless, the members of the NPP are very optimistic of their win and say they are only waiting for the final declaration from the EC for formality sake.

According to information from the stables of the NPP, their collation of the elections is almost the same as some projections by some media houses. The Projections which shows the incumbent president, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo taking the lead in the race to the 50% plus one vote.

The party is also confident of a 137 win in the parliamentary race and is looking at a majority working in parliament. The party however is in talks to get the Fomena Independent candidate who won the constituency seat to work with the party in parliament.

Howbeit, moods across the nation are mostly calm as most citizens go about their normal activities while the wait for the official declaration by the Electoral Commission continues.

As of now, the EC is in the last stretch of preparations in getting the final results of the presidential race and subsequently announcing.

The EC is expected to address the public with the final results of this year’s elections by close of day today, following the Commissions in ability to meet the 24hour deadline it initially gave the public.

The Commission blames unforeseen events such as the rain and late voting in some parts of the country as reasons for the delay. The Commission has apologized and has said it will address the media once its preparation is over.

That notwithstanding, the Commission, through its website and social media platforms has announced the verified results of  most constituency elections as well as some regional results.

The Commission is positive that it will be able to declare the presidential results by the close of the day.
