Tems revealed her admiration for Kanye West, sharing that she often finds herself bonding with him.
“I love Kanye [West]. I relate to him sometimes,” Tems said in part.
The conversation also touched on her friendship with American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz. Tems described Faiyaz as a close friend whom she has known since 2021, adding that he is one of the few artists she is close to.
“Brent Faiyaz is my very good friend. He is a real one. He is always supportive. I have a couple of artists I’m close to and he’s one of them.”

In other news, Tems found herself in the enviable position of hanging out with NBA royalty, the billionaire basketball juggernaut, Lebron James.
This wasn’t just a casual meet-up but an exclusive moment with the LA Lakers icon who was in Paris to join the talk show, ‘The Shop Live.’
Alongside show host Paul Rivera, the towering presence of Lebron engaged in a deep dive on the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, seated next to none other than international acting star Damson Idris and the luminous Tems.
But it wasn’t just serious conversations that set the internet ablaze. A video surfaced, capturing a candid moment of Tems snug in the cozy embrace of Lebron James, all smiles, as they took a group selfie with the rest of the stellar cast.
Her debut album, “Born In The Wild,” contributed to this achievement, solidifying her position as a rising star in the music industry.
Singer Reveals She’s Open to Marriage
Tems revealed her openness to the idea of marriage.
Unlike many celebrities who have dismissed the notion of matrimony, the 29-year-old Grammy-winning vocalist indicated that she is willing to consider the future possibilities.
When asked, “Are you going to get married one day?” Tems took a moment to reflect before responding, “Yeah. We will see.”
At present, singer Tems is not publicly linked to any romantic partner. Previous rumors were suggesting she was expecting a child with American rapper Future, but Tems quickly dispelled those speculations.
Singer Tems also discussed her views on relationships, noting that many men seem to lack intentions beyond physical intimacy.
Tems has made history by becoming the first Nigerian female artist to surpass 1 billion solo streams on Spotify. This landmark achievement further solidifies her status as a leading figure in the global music scene and underscores the rising influence of Afrobeats and African artists worldwide.
In addition to this ground-breaking milestone, singer Tems is now the second African female artist to reach 1 billion solo streams, cementing her legacy within the continent’s music industry. She joins an elite group of Nigerian artists, being only the fourth Nigerian to achieve over 1 billion streams on Spotify and the sixth African artist overall to reach this impressive number.
Tems’ journey to this remarkable achievement is a testament to her unique sound, powerful vocals, and the universal appeal of her music. From her breakout single “Try Me” to her successful collaborations with global superstars like Wizkid and Drake, Tems has consistently delivered hits that resonate with audiences around the world.
Her skillful blend of soulful melodies with Afrobeats rhythms has earned her both critical acclaim and a devoted fan base.
This milestone not only marks a personal victory for Tems but also represents a significant moment for the Nigerian and African music industries. It reflects the growing global recognition of African artists and the rise of Afrobeats as a dominant genre on the international stage.
Tems’ success serves as an inspiring example for aspiring musicians across the continent, proving that with talent, perseverance, and authenticity, African artists can achieve global success and make history on their terms.
