The Ghanaian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following reports that popular Highlife musician, Dada KD, has passed away.

According to reports, the iconic singer is dead, although the cause of death remains unknown at this time. The news, though yet to be officially confirmed by his family, has triggered an outpouring of grief and disbelief across social media.

Award-winning gospel singer, Empress Gifty, posted a photo of the late singer with the caption: “I have this… I have this… it is not worth it. Your life matters. Hmmmm, life hmmm. DADA KD RIP.”

Prominent broadcaster Ohemaa Woyeje also took to her social media to share her sorrow, writing: “Bad news! Death! Another great musician down. Let’s hope the news overturns.”

His colleague, Dada Hafco, also posted, “KD? Chaleee Ei”.

Dada KD, born Dada Kwaku Duah, was one of Ghana’s most respected Highlife musicians. His music, often centered around love, pain, and the realities of life, touched generations of fans. He became a household name with classic songs such as: “Fatia Fata Nkrumah”, “Somu Gye”, “Honey Love”, and “Odo Mu Anigye”.

With a soulful voice and poetic lyrics, Dada KD carved a unique path in Ghana’s music scene. He earned admiration not only for his sound but also for the depth and authenticity he brought to his craft.

While tributes continue to pour in, many are holding on to hope that the reports may prove untrue. Until then, fans and colleagues are paying homage to a man whose music offered comfort, insight, and emotional healing to many.

As tributes continue to flood social media following the passing of Highlife legend Dada KD, new details have emerged about the veteran musician’s final days, revealing a heartbreaking story of silent emotional battles behind a strong public image.

Renowned media personality, Nana Romeo, disclosed that although the “Somu Gye” hitmaker appeared physically healthy and was actively preparing for an upcoming show in london, he was silently battling deep emotional struggles.

“He looked fit. He never complained of any sickness. In fact, he was recently on my radio show and looked completely fine. But when you spoke to him one-on-one, you would realize that financially, psychologically, and emotionally, he wasn’t a happy person. He was going through a lot in life.”

Nana Romeo further recounted how he got to know about the heartbreaking news. According to him, he started seeing posts on social media with captions like “Rest in Peace” and questions asking whether Dada KD had died.

Shocked and confused, he immediately reached out to the artist’s manager for confirmation.

“The manager sounded broken. There were tears in the manager’s voice. She confirmed the news and told me that when he got to Dada KD’s house, the legend wasn’t talking, wasn’t active. They rushed him to the Gbawe Hospital, but sadly, he passed away this evening.”

For now, the actual cause of death remains unknown. The family and management are awaiting a full medical report from the doctors.
