Francis Nyarko

Mr. Francis Nyarko extolled the publicity and the enthusiasm around the Trade and Investment Fair, which he noted is in line with Government’s agenda to create jobs. He thus, urged all regions to emulate the initiative. He also stated that the fair will help the region showcase its resources.

“It’s a call in the right direction, and it’s quite innovative. There are a lot of resources in the Region that people may not know. But this fair will bring it out and let people know that there are good things here in Volta to follow.”

Francis Nyarko

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, who is the chairman of the planning committee for the event, received the cheque and expressed his appreciation to GCB bank Limited for the support. Meanwhile, he indicated that the President of the ECOWAS Bank is also expected to grace the ceremony.

Rev. Steven Adjah Tetteh, Regional Economic Planning Officer of GCB said the Bank would partake in a forum on ‘agribusiness financing in Volta Region’, which would be held as part of the event.

Mr. Francis Nyarko revealed that Management of the Bank also intends to send its small business Unit to the fair to help promote the Government’s industrialization agenda, which includes the 1D1F.

Interplast Ghana Limited, major producer of plastics, also supported the fair, and would be demonstrating its agricultural irrigation systems at the event.

The Volta Trade and Investment Fair is an initiative of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Association of Ghana Industries.

This year’s fair is on the theme: “Promoting Sustainable Trade and Investment”. It starts from November 15, 2021 to 28th at the Ho Sports Stadium. The official opening ceremony is scheduled on the 17th.

The event is expected to attract over 8,000 visitors from across the country, and it would exhibit the investment potentials in the Region.
