A.B. Crentsil To Embark On US Tour

Crentsil, and his Ahenfo Band are set to embark on a tour to the United States of America in May this year to entertain his fans, promote his brand, as well as Ghanaian music on the US market.

Legendary highlife musician, A.B. Crentsil, and his Ahenfo Band, are set to embark on a tour to the United States of America in May this year to entertain his fans, promote his brand, as well as Ghanaian music to the US market.

The tour dubbed, ‘A.B. Crentsil US Tour 2022’, which is expected to have the celebrated musician perform in over 10 cities in the States, will be one of the biggest to ever hit the US from Ghana. The tour is scheduled to begin from May 6 to September 16.

The tour, according to the organizers, is a unique platform to celebrate Ghanaian music and culture on the US music platform. The objective of the tour is to promote and market Ghanaian music in the States and bring key stakeholders together to support the cause of Ghanaian music.

It will involve live musical performances in some selected venues including Dakota, Grand Forks, Williston, Minot, Dickinson, Sioux Fall, among others, where the highlife musician and his band are expected to thrill music fans.

The highlife musician is sure to surprise his fans in the States with magnificent and electrifying performances; he will showcase a number of fresh compositions during his tour.

The legendary musician seems to have his music life very well figured out. It is no wonder he advised young entertainers to plan and take their time before hitting the limelight. The ‘Moses’ hitmaker shared the importance of planning one’s future in life.

“Well, all I have to tell the younger ones is that they have to be careful and plan well before they move” AB Crenstil said.

Touching on what has kept him going for about three decades, the musician touted his ability to get the job done well.

“You know you have to perform well for people to like you and your music has to be reasonable and enjoyable, that’s it. I have several shows I’m playing ahead of me”, says AB Crenstil.

Rocky Dawuni Suggests a Highlife Museum be Built

Based on the immense contributions of some highlife legends, it wasn’t a surprise when Rocky Dawuni suggested that Ghana needs to establish a Highlife Museum that will honor and recognize the contributions of legends, who are forerunners of the genre.

According to him, some of these Highlife legends are the reason Ghanaian music is known all over the world, as such, the need for the museum. He noted that all genres being produced in Ghana now have the foundation of the highlife genre in them for that reason the need to honor these legends for their impact.  

Rocky Dawuni mentioned the likes Nana Ampadu, C.K Man, E.T Mensah, J.A Adofo, Awurama Badu, A.B Crentsil, and Amakye Dede who have contributed immensely to the highlife industry.

AB Crentsil is credited with a number of songs such as ‘I Go Pay You Tomorrow’, ‘Papa Samo’, ‘Obi Ba Wiase’, ‘Atia, Ayen’, ‘Moses’, ‘Adam And Eve’,  ‘Juliana’, ‘Angelina’ and a host of other songs. He has performed on a number of local and international platforms in Africa, Europe, and the United States of America (USA).

The musician, whose evergreen songs are still hitting the airwaves, has won numerous Ghanaian music awards, including the Fontomfrom Evergreen Award, a special honor bestowed upon a musician with over 35 years of continuous music experience.

AB Crentsil continues to release new albums and he continues to win some accolades that are awarded to top musicians in Ghana.
