The 2021 National Best Farmer, Alhaji Mohammed Mashud, has disclosed that there are a lot of benefits in the agriculture sector for farmers and persons wanting to venture into agriculture.
Speaking to the Vaultz News, Alhaji Mashud said there are many prospects in the agriculture sector, adding that he identified a gap in the agriculture space in the northern part of Ghana and decided to seal that gap. He said he did this by giving his full attention to farming and mobilizing farmer groups for a competitive advantage.
The 2021 National Best Farmer, who has won the admiration of all by his incredible feats, is the head of the KambangCooperative, which is involved in numerous activities across the agricultural value chain, including crop farming and livestock production mechanization services and other farm supports. His story depicts one full of hope and perseverance.
“I started KambangCoopeartive on a small scale as a Farmer-Based Organization 15 years ago until it attained the level it is right now. The Cooperative has benefited from some government programs like the SAPIP, GCAP, and PFJ, among others. We are into farming and provide value-added services. There are a lot of benefits in the agriculture sector, and because it is broad, everyone can fit somewhere across the agriculture value chain. It is a delight to know that our works are being appreciated and seen by the people of Ghana.”

We face challenges, which are funding, but I am a solution provider, so I always manage my way around this funding challenge.”
