Competition in Oil Marketing Companies Must Benefit All – Engen Ghana MD

Mr Brent Nartey, the Managing Director of Engen Ghana Limited has suggested that the proliferation of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the country must inure to the benefit of the consumer as well as the investors. The MD further stressed that the competition in the field must yield positive dividends to all stakeholders.

According to the Engen Ghana Limited Managing Director, who is also an energy expert, fuel consumers must demand value for money from Filling Stations they patronise as the prices of petroleum products keep soaring in the recent times.

While using his company as a case study, he noted that Engen Ghana under the new management of Mocoh Ghana Limited, which acquired 100 percent shares of Engen Ghana Limited, is set to help customers find solution to the volatile fuel market environment.

“We are strategically going to continue with the path set and revamp where necessary towards injecting in the Ghanaian downstream industry dynamism to help customers find the right solutions to ever-changing market conditions”.

Mr Nartey also noted that Engen Ghana would revamp its operations to generate greater interest in the sector, inject professionalism and ensure that consumers enjoy value for money services.

In addition to that, Mr Nartey averred that, the company – Engen Ghana was leading an industrial revolution which would ensure that products and professional operations in the Ghanaian downstream OMCs were the hallmark for operation in fulfilment of the company’s commitment to becoming the Oil Company of Choice in Ghana.

He therefore charged the consumers and stakeholders to take advantage of the competition among the numerous oil marketing companies in the country. For instance, he explained that “the Engen Dynamic Diesel and Primax Super had been purposely produced with the vehicle engines in mind to protect, clean and maintain the engine. This is available at all Engen Service Stations across the country.”

He further stressed that Engen Ghana has adopted the right balance between environmental performance, social equity, and financial prosperity in all their decisions and activities.

Furthermore, Mr Nartey assured consumers that Engen Ghana would continue to offer time tested additivated fuels, dynamic diesel, and primax to guarantee fuel efficiency and extend engine life of vehicles and equipment of the patrons. This, he said will help the consumers to enjoy value for money despite the constant hike in fuel prices.

Industry Players Must Train Forecourt Staff

Meanwhile, he called for more responsibility in the industry to ensure that the right skills were set for forecourt staff. The Engen Ghana Managing Director reiterated that “with the right skills and knowledge, customers will be better served at the various fuel stations in the country and have value for money spent on fuel and lubricants”.

However, Mr Nartey in his concluding remark, commended the immediate past Managing Director of Engen Ghana, Mr Henry Akwaboah, for building a solid foundation for growth in the industry which is tailored to helping customers derive maximum benefit.
