The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has dissolved the Greater Accra Regional Branch Executive of the Union.
This was after a meeting was convened by the leaders of the association to curb some anomalies in the Greater Accra Branch of the Union.
In a press release, GUTA indicates that, their decision is based on two reasons. The first is that, there has been some contravention of the association’s rules and regulation and also there is no cohesion in the operations of the Greater Accra branch of the association.
“Following a crisis, a meeting was convened by the National Council of Elders of the Ghana Union of Traders Association in consultation with and support of the National Executive Committee, on Thursday 9th July.”
GUTA has therefore taking the decision to dissolve “with immediate effect” the Greater Accra Executive because there have been;
- Serious breaches of the Association’s Code of Ethics
- Lack of unity among the Greater Accra Executive.
