The Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) has advised business owners to take required measures to guarantee that their employees go through the Covid-19 vaccination process as it will subsequently boost business confidence.

“GEA, therefore, encourages employers to design robust communication strategies to promote the vaccination of their employees who may be sceptical or reluctant to take the vaccines due to inappropriate information they might have received”.
“The pandemic, since its outbreak in Ghana, has had a telling effect on the activities of both employers and workers. Most employers have had to scale down or shut down their businesses in response to the various measures implemented by Government to contain the virus”.
“There is no doubt that high patronage of the vaccines by employers and their workers will boost business confidence, ensure a healthy workforce and promote a speedy recovery of businesses and the economy from the disruption occasioned by the pandemic”.
The Association insists that workplaces have recently been cited as hotspots for the spread of the virus, hence business owners must help eliminate the pandemic from the workplace by ensuring that their members adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols.
Additionally, it assured that Covid-19 vaccines have been subjected to thorough scientific scrutiny and endorsed by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), further guaranteeing the “nation that the vaccines are safe for use by all persons above 18 years of age and no-expecting mothers”.
Consequently, it advised employers and employees alike to refrain from the myths and conspiracy theories surrounding the Covid-19 vaccine.
“GEA therefore encourages employers to design robust communication strategies to promote the vaccination of their employees who may be sceptical or reluctant to take the vaccines due to inappropriate information they might have received.
According to the Association, the benefits of employers and workers participating in the vaccination program are enormous as it will keep management and employees healthy by preventing the contraction of the virus.
Also, it maintains the move will reduce absenteeism due to related illnesses of the virus while improving the much-required productivity to ensure that the enterprise recovers rapidly from the disruptions that accompanied the outbreak of the virus.
The pandemic since its outbreak in the country has had a telling impact on the activities of both employers and workers. As such, the Association encouraged all workers to continually comply and adhere to all the necessary COVID-19 protocols and directives and policies also to vaccinate the workforce of the organization.
With this, GEA urged “organized Labours to collaborate with employers to educate and sensitize workers on the need to collaborate to educate and sensitize workers on the need to patronize the Vaccination exercise in our collective quest to rid the workplace of the pandemic”.
