Ghanaian musician turned politician, Kwame A Plus, has officially launched his campaign for the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections with a willful and passionate speech.
At his campaign launch, which took place in the township of Gomoa Ekwamkrom, A Plus emphasised the importance of the Gomoa and Agona constituencies, which collectively hold 450,000 votes, in determining the election’s outcome.
“When we started the campaign, people said we couldn’t do it, but I am telling you we can. We are the ones who will decide what will happen during the upcoming election.”

He dismissed rumours about legal troubles and assured his supporters of his long-standing presence and influence.
“There were rumours that I was taken to court, don’t pay any attention to them. Kwame A Plus has been here since 1998 and will still be here,” he stated.
A Plus also highlighted his contributions to the community, including the construction of a borehole in Ablekuma, a community centre, a health clinic, public toilets, and facilitating NHIS card registrations. He also mentioned his donations towards building a market.
In a direct message to President Akuffo-Addo, A Plus claimed credit for the President’s previous electoral success in the constituency.
“Tell President Akufo-Addo that it was through my efforts that he won this constituency,” he asserted.
According to him, what he has achieved in one year cannot be compared to Nana Addo’s leadership when he was an MP for his hometown.
A Plus’ campaign launch featured a health walk around the township, which was widely patronized by supporters who took to the streets.
Also spotted at the event were his wife, Violet Obeng, aka Akosua Vee, entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, and movie director and Head of Productions at UTV, Harold Roger Quartey, who came to offer their support for A Plus.
This comes after A Plus, once a supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), became a vocal critic of the administration and announced his intention to run for the seat in September 2023.
He would be going against the incumbent NPP MP, Naana Eyiah Quansah.

In his speech, Arnold, representing the entertainment industry, including music, movies, and theatre, highlighted A Plus’s hard work and dedication during his music career as proof of his potential to fulfil his promises if elected.
“We are here to show our love and support for A Plus because he is one of us,” he stated.

He assured the electorate that A Plus would leverage his connections to bring development to the town by bringing in some popular figures.
“Any development you need, he is there for you. He will use his associations to improve this town, one week you will see Shatta Wale, the next will be Stonebwoy, the next will be Jackie Appiah.”
