The remake of the popular Nigerian sequel, ‘Glamour Girls’, seems to be an all-women affair as Abimbola Craig has been announced as the movie producer for the movie.
The production company, Play Network studios first shared the news on Instagram as they unveiled Abimbola as the producer of the movie.
“Welcome to the family @abimbolacraig!! Now let’s make magic. Are you guys ready?”

A few minutes later Abimbola also shared the exciting news on her verified Instagram page as well as her Twitter. Posting an advert cover of the movie, the ‘triple threat’ wrote:
“Three generations of Nollywood actresses, A female producer, A female director, A female writer. Happy Women’s month! @playnetworkstudios @charlesofplay let’s create magic”.

Her post attracted so many comments as fans and celebrity friends lauded her for this achievement. Most of them congratulated her while others said they can’t wait to see the movie. Others also said Abimbola can always be trusted to produce very good movies, therefore, they can’t wait to see this particular movie.



Abimbola, who is a producer and doubles as an actress, has produced outstanding and groundbreaking movies such as Ndani TV’s ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’ (which she ended up playing the lead role while still producing season 2 – season 6), ‘Rumor Has It’, ‘The Juice’, co-produced ‘Sugar Rush’ in 2019, alongside Jadesola Osiberu, and directed the new Ndani Original ‘Game On’. Abimbola currently works as Head of Production at Ndani Television and Communications. Last year in December, she made her directional debut at the company when she directed ‘Game On’ which starred Omowumi Dada, Ebenezer Eno, Taye Arimoro, Eso Dike, Ian Wordi, Eve Bankong, and many others.
The remake of the 1994 Nollywood blockbuster, which was acquired by Play Network Africa’s CEO, Charles Okpaleke is expected to hit the cinemas in December 2021. Charles Okpaleke posting the ad cover of the movie on his Instagram page wrote:
“Three generations of Nollywood actresses in one movie. With a female producer, female director, and a female writer! It’s a woman’s world you know! See you in cinemas this December!!”

The first ‘Glamour Girls’ follows the life of a village girl, who was influenced by her friend to get a job in Lagos to live a better life. It told a gripping tale of four young women who turned to prostitution to afford a high-class lifestyle. It starred Liz Benson, Ngozi Ezeonu, Eucharia Anuobi, Pat Attah, Ernest Obi, Zack Orji, and others.
