Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has penned a heartfelt note to veteran actor, Olu Jacobs following the death rumors that circulated about him.
It was reported on Sunday evening that one Oba K Solo had alleged that the veteran, aged 82, had passed away.
Taking to his Instagram page, Yul prayed for more life for the veteran as he asked God to give him more life.
“More life to you Uncle @_olujacobs. You remain one of the greatest actors in the continent of Africa. I learnt so much from you while working with you on set. You’re loved, respected and appreciated.
“May God give you more life, good health, joy, happiness and blessings. It would be a dream come true to have you on set again. Amen.”
Yul Edochie
This isn’t the first time Yul Edochie has written a message to him.
In 2022, when Olu Jacobs turned 80, Yul Edochie joined many celebrities in eulogizing him, as he noted how his biggest wish was to be on set with the legendary actor. He finally got the opportunity many times and he learned so much from him.
The actor’s family had debunked the news with a video of the veteran getting a haircut from someone, and it was clear that he was hale and hearty.
The video showed the son informing his father (Olu Jacobs) about the death rumors that surfaced Sunday, and the actor appeared shocked.
Mr. Jacobs also expressed the family’s frustration with the recurring death rumors that surface yearly.
He mentioned receiving numerous calls from concerned people worldwide and described the situation as annoying and distressing for the family.
Betty Irabor, Genevieve Magazine publisher and a close friend of Joke Jacobs, the actor’s wife, also debunked the news. She tweeted, “Olu Jacob is well and alive. Please ignore all rumors of his passing. He is alive, please.”
The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, also cautioned Nigerians over the false rumor of Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs’ death.
Since November 2021, Jacobs’ health has been a topic of concern after his wife revealed his battle with Dementia Lewy body (DLB), a degenerative disease that affects the brain.
Despite his health challenges, Jacobs continues to make occasional public appearances.
