Akwaboah Breaks Silence on ‘Pastor’s Directive Not to Marry Baby Mama’

Akwaboah

Ghanaian musician, Akwaboah Jnr. has clarified that there is no truth to the claim that his pastor once urged him not to marry a woman with whom he shares a child.

Akwaboah who tied the knot with his 28-year-old partner Theresa in May, addressed the speculation.

He emphatically stated that the allegation was false, asserting his independence in choosing his partner.

“At my age and with my experience, must someone force a lady on me? He [the pastor] didn’t introduce her to me. She’s my pastor’s secretary, so whenever I want to see my pastor, I’ll go through her. And I noticed I liked her, I proposed to her, and we’re where we are.”

Akwaboah

Regarding the claim that his pastor intervened in his personal affairs.

“So, the claims that our pastor forced her on me are untrue. He never asked me to quit my relationship with my baby mama.”

Akwaboah

He further revealed that his wife is “a midwife by profession”.

Akwaboah, a member of Prophet Amoah Atta’s Lord’s Parliament Chapel, explained that he parted ways with his previous partners due to irreconcilable differences.

“She was pregnant, we separated, and I decided to take care of my son. A lot happened before we separated, but I wouldn’t go into it. I took my son when he was a year old, and he’s now ten years old.”

He further disclosed his parental responsibilities.

“I have two kids with two women. The second born is five years old; the child is in the U.K. with the mother, and I take care of that child as well.”

Akwaboah addressed the criticism surrounding his wife, Theresa’s demeanor during their wedding, which attracted significant public attention.

Akwaboah defended his wife, stating he saw nothing wrong with her publicly reprimanding her younger sister for inappropriate behavior, which sparked reactions online.

He emphasized that outsiders have no right to dictate his wife’s public conduct and disagreed with those criticizing her on social media.

“Yes, I noticed, but I found it endearing. Would you appreciate being controlled? It was her sister whom she glared at for sitting improperly. I cherish her toughness. Sometimes, life requires a strong, resolute partner.”

Akwaboah

He added that he loves his wife because of her resilience and someone who doesn’t allow anyone to take advantage of her.

These remarks came in response to criticisms directed at his wife for her strict demeanor during their wedding ceremony.

Following comments on his wedding post suggesting he needed medical attention based on his appearance, Akwaboah Jnr. sarcastically dismissed concerns by asserting his good health, particularly in response to suggestions for a kidney checkup.

Videos from the event attracted views and commentaries, with some observers suggesting that the musician appeared unwell.

Among the commenters were acclaimed doctors who expressed concern about Akwaboah’s health and recommended that he should undergo a kidney checkup to prevent any potential deterioration in his condition.

In response to the comments, Akwaboah, adopting a cheeky and humorous tone, said, “I’ll check my oesophagus instead.”

“For all the times I’ve been posting pictures and videos, nobody noticed I was unwell until my wedding? Let’s be honest with ourselves. Growth comes with its challenges. I have children, a mother, siblings, and responsibilities. Life throws obstacles that we must overcome.”

Akwaboah

Without equivocation, the musician maintained that nothing was wrong with him, stressing that his health was intact. “I’m fine,” he said.
