Ghanaian musician, Amerado has revealed why he released ‘Date Rush’, a few days after King Paluta had released his mega-hit song, ‘Makoma.’

After the release of Amerado’s ‘Date Rush’, some social media users suggested that he should have waited for King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ to enjoy some monopoly on the music marketing before dropping his song.

According to these critics, they believed the weight of King Paluta’s song would submerge Amerado’s. However, Amerado recounted the back story of the two releases.

“Myself and my team, we have plans. Sometimes, people make it seem they think about you more than you think about yourself, which is very bad. I was going to release a song I have with King Paluta on that Friday King Paluta dropped ‘Makoma’.

“We were going to drop ‘Playman’, and Paluta told me he was going to drop a song on that day. So I agreed that he should release his song on that day so that I drop mine a week after his.”

Amerado

The ‘Kwaku Ananse’ hitmaker further explained that he couldn’t have pulled the reins on his plans because of the release plans of other musicians.

“I am not a magician, I didn’t know ‘Makoma’ was going to be too big, and the fact that ‘Makoma’ took over doesn’t mean that it should mess up my plans. Because out of all the big songs I have dropped including ‘Abronoma’, the ‘Date Rush’ song has the most interactions on TikTok.”

Amerado

He noted that the fact that King Paluta’s song is played doesn’t mean his [Amerado’s] song can’t be played.

Amerado maintained that not every song will be a monster hit.

“We cannot play one person’s song all the time. Even with the likes of Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede, some of their songs are bigger than others,” he indicated.

In the meantime, Amerado has released a 5-track EP titled ‘The Gold Coin.’

Artist Breaks Silence on Decline of Barima Sidney’s Feature Request

Amerado broke silence on the reports that he refused to feature on a song by Barima Sidney.

The ‘Kweku Ananse’ hitmaker indicated that one of the factors that informs his decision to feature on a song is inspiration.

According to him, when the inspiration is missing, he usually does not grant the feature, citing Barima Sidney as an example.

“Barima Sidney sent me a song, I loved it. I spoke with my team that I thought the song was not one that I could really deliver well on so I requested for a remix of one of his monster hits but that couldn’t happen too,” he noted.

He, therefore, noted that gospel music Joyce Blessing sent him her newly released ‘Overdo’ for a remix and he worked on it instantly because he could vibe with it.

Amerado noted that he would be glad to do a song with Barima Sidney considering his achievements in the industry provided he resonates with the song.

“I’ve seen a couple of interviews that the legendary Barima Sidney has been talking about the fact that I ignored a feature. He should take it easy on me because who wouldn’t want to work with Sidney but sometime maybe we will work on a song that I can really deliver on.”

Amerado

Not long ago, Amerado got featured on a song by Shatta Wale titled ‘Blessings’. He also has songs with artists such as Sista Afia, Rap Fada, and King Paluta, among others.

Amerado and legendary Samini recently teamed up in the studio, exciting fans with a potential remix of Amerado’s hit song ‘Ankonam.’
