Rising singer Ayra Starr has made a bold declaration that if given Presidential authority for a day, women would be exempted from financial obligations.
Ayra Starr sheds light on her impassioned perspective on gender parity.
She stated that if she were to become the President, she would ensure that women and children would never have to pay for anything again.
“If I was president for a day, I would make sure women don’t have to pay for anything. Everything free. All the bags, all the jewelry, food. Women and children won’t have to pay for anything. Always and forever!” Ayra Starr said.
When asked what she believes is the most toxic star sign, the singer replied: “Oh, I know this one. I’m kidding. I love all the star signs, so nobody should come for me – but run away from a scorpion! Run away [laughs].”
In another story, Ayra Starr explained how she coined her stage name, and references Don Jazzy’s input.
She revealed that her stage name was partly her record label boss, Don Jazzy’s idea.
According to the singer, she coined “Ayra” while the Mavin Records boss added the suffix “Starr.”
She said before signing to Mavin, she was known as “Oyin,” a nick of her first name, Oyinkansola.
“There is this Yoruba name called Ira, I wanted people to pronounce it as ‘Aira.’ And I was like, the only way they can pronounce it is by spelling it ‘A Y R A.’ So, I was thinking about it and something just told me to go ‘A Y R A.’ And when I did, everything just came together: The meaning of the name, it felt like God was speaking to me,” the music star said..
“And ‘Starr’ was Don Jazzy’s idea. Ayra means ‘woke and open-minded.’ And that’s what I want. I want to be honored and respected,” she further added.
Also, a recent social media announcement revealed that the talented Mavin Princess will be joining the Grammy winner on his tour across the United States of America and Canada.
Chris Brown’s “11:11” tour is set to feature special guests including the ‘Rush’ crooner and Muni Long as they join him on a journey across 26 cities in both the United States and Canada.
Beginning in Detroit on June 4, the tour will make stops in major cities such as Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, and Houston, before culminating in a grand finale in Los Angeles on August 6.
Angry Twitter Man Slams Ayra Starr
An angry Twitter personality known as Shaka slammed singer Ayra Starr over her recent statement which suggested that women should not have to pay for anything.
He slammed her by stating that if she wanted freedom for women in terms of financial stability, then she needed to give free tickets to women for her show. He went on to call her a fool.
Media personality Solomon Buchi also agreed with him as he reposted it on his Twitter page. It is recalled that the viral video of the “Commas” crooner emerged online where she was caught in an interview stating that if she was president for a day, she would make sure that women never have to pay for anything.
Nigerian men were infuriated by this as they stated that she was encouraging a dependency culture amongst women.
Now, also, it can be recalled that just four days ago, netizens had trolled Ayra Starr after she shared a video of her brother covering one of her songs.
She posted a video of her younger brother covering her most popular song at the moment, Commas, and while she seemed very proud of him, netizens slammed him for how bad he sounded.
They further revealed that music was not meant for him, and that’s why she is the successful one in music, and not him.
They also cautioned her against promoting her brother as he should choose another career path.
