Ghanaian Highlife musician, Bisa Kdei has been announced as one of the headline artists at the biggest music festival in Sierra Leone, ‘EcoFest’.
The two-day festival, ‘EcoFest’, slated for the National Stadium in Freetown on November 26-27, 2021, would witness an array of music stars from across the continent to showcase their musical prowess at one of the best music festivals in the world and Ghana’s Bisa Kdei will be one of such artists.
Meanwhile, amidst rumors of reuniting, Nigeria’s P-square brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye are expected to also perform at the music festival. Some reports suggest that the duo has recently started to get along despite their past feud. There have even been recent reports disclosing that the brothers have started following each other on Instagram. If they perform together at the 2021 ‘EcoFest’, this will be the first time the duo will be seen on the same stage after several years of splitting.
There will be a performance by Nigerian young star, Rema. ‘Jerusalema’ hit star, Master KG from South Africa is also expected to perform at the event. Other top artists from DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Senegal, Guinea, and Kenya would all be present in Freetown for the mega music event.
It is worth noting that this year’s show will be hosted by Nigeria’s comedians, Kenny Blaq and Broda Shaggi and Richie Obama, and Phebean Swill from Sierra Leone.
The music festival themed, ‘Rejuvenation’ returns this year after the 2020 event was not staged due to the Coronavirus pandemic which halted many musical shows across the globe.
CEO of Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment, Abu Bakarr Turay, speaking on the theme for this year’s EcoFest said, “We are still recovering from the global pandemic and its consequences in the spirit of resilience refusing to give up”.
According to Abu Bakarr, “Life goes on as we push Covid-19 away. We will never give up as a people and as a brand. There is #Rejuvination. We are back!”
