Black Sherif’s “IRON BOY” Album Makes an Impressive Debut

Ghanaian artist, Black Sherif, continues to break barriers with his latest project, “IRON BOY”.

The album has made an impressive debut, becoming the first-ever album by a Ghanaian artist to chart on both the US and UK Apple Music charts.

“IRON BOY” now stands proudly at number 7 on the UK Top Songs Chart (across all genres) and number 11 on the US Top Songs Chart.

Released on April 3, 2025, “IRON BOY” album is quickly becoming a global sensation, currently charting in over 50 countries worldwide on Apple Music.

The album’s success on these prestigious platforms highlights Black Sherif’s growing international appeal and further cements his position as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.

In a remarkable display of dominance in his home country, all 15 tracks on the album occupy the top 15 spots on the Ghana Apple Music Charts.

This unprecedented accomplishment underscores the immense popularity of the album in Ghana, solidifying Black Sherif’s status as one of the most influential artists in the nation.

Known for blending Afrobeat, hip-hop, and Highlife, Black Sherif’s “IRON BOY” is a testament to his versatility and ability to resonate with audiences across different genres.

The album explores themes of resilience, strength, and freedom, with collaborations from Nigerian hitmakers Fireboy DML and Seyi Vibez, further adding to its rich soundscape.

This milestone comes on the heels of Black Sherif’s previous success with his debut album “The Villain I Never Was,” which peaked at #9 on the UK Apple Music Albums Chart—making it the highest position for any Ghanaian album on that chart at the time.

With “IRON BOY’s” success, Black Sherif is once again proving that Ghanaian music is making waves on the international stage.

The Ghanaian musician’s song being played at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium before kick-off against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League excited many Ghanaians.

Before kick-off at the Emirates for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals between Arsenal and Real Madrid, Balck Sherif’s song could be heard playing in the background.

The song, ‘Where Dem Boyz’, was from his newly released“IRON BOY” album, which dropped about five days ago.

The memorable moment was also captured while the 2023 BET Awards’ Best International Flow winner embarked on his “IRON BOY” tour.

During the pre-match interview of South African sports Journalist Julia Stuart, many Ghanaians noticed that the Black Sherif’s song was been played in the background while the players warmed up.

Meanwhile, the first leg of the UCL quarterfinals ended in a 3-0 win for the Gunners, with English footballer and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice securing the Man of the Match award.

Black Sherif’s song being played at the Emirates Stadium was an Aha Moment for many Ghanaians as they were in awe that a song off his newly released“IRON BOY” album was already international.

Many of his Ghanaian fans shared videos of the moment on their social media pages and hailed the celebrated Ghanaian rapper in the various captions, such as him reaching far in his music career and his unmatched levels with other artists.
