Artiste manager and CEO of Rufftown Records, Ricky Nana Agyemang, also known as Bullet, has disapproved rumors that his feud with his signee Wendy Shay is a publicity stunt.
Bullet clarified that the issues were genuine and not fabricated for attention.
“It was not a publicity stunt; what would have been the use of it to the label if it was a stunt? You don’t use stunts to promote projects; you use money to promote them.”
Bullet
He pointed out that publicity stunts used to be an industry secret.
“They were something used in Hollywood to get the public talking, and no one even knew. But now that the secret is out there, Ghanaians, especially, have abused it. Now they just do stunts anyhow, and they know that entertainment pundits will help hype them up.”

Bullet pointed to the incident involving Akuapem Polo, who admitted to staging a car vandalism act as a stunt, as an example of the trend’s excesses.
“It has gotten to a point where even if the artiste is not involved in a publicity stunt, people think it is. I thought the Medikal and Fella Makafui issue was a stunt at first. Even up till now, people think it’s still a stunt.
“People reached out to me thinking my issue with Wendy was a stunt. But that wasn’t the case.”
Bullet
He expressed his preference for investing in direct promotion rather than resorting to stunts, which he believes have lost their impact.
“I have never done a publicity stunt, nor have I been involved in one. They do not work,” he said.
Bullet also addressed the speculations that had arisen around his relationship with Wendy Shay, confirming that their disagreement was real and not a stunt as many had suspected.
He shared that the issue is now nearly resolved.
“We have discussed the issue; I have talked with Wendy herself, her mother, and Kwesi Ernest, who is her godfather. People thought our issue was fake, but it was real; right now, it is about 90% resolved.”

In May 2024, Wendy Shay fueled rumors of a split from Rufftown Records after announcing that her new music video ‘Who Cares’ would premiere on her channel and removing all Rufftown content from her social media.

It’s no more news that Wendy Shay has parted ways with the RuffTown Record label after working together for seven(7) years.
Days ago, Wendy Shay was online and throwing shades at her former label and manager which got people thinking about what could be happening between the two.
Some people saw it as one of the schemes of the label to be in the trends and finally drop a new song that would get people talking about them.
But that seems not to be the case as Bullet has come out to confirm that Wendy Shay is no longer under his label and management.
He revealed that he had a misunderstanding with Wendy Shay and asked her to leave.
According to him, Wendy Shay’s contract under RuffTown had expired and an American record label came to meet them on the possibilities of signing her onto their label.
After listening to them and pondering over it, he didn’t feel convinced and therefore kicked against Wendy signing the said deal.
Days after they had a misunderstanding, he angrily told Wendy Shay to leave the label if she was not happy.
“Most of the time when Artistes and their labels fall out we blame the artiste. However, in our case I blame myself. I got angry at a point and told her if she wanted to go she could go. I have seen that she has done a diss song for me as a result. But I am proud of her accomplishment since we fell out.”
