Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has finally spoken out on social media amidst the raging storm of backlash following a disreputable video of him delivering a slap to his bouncer during his opulent wedding with Chioma Adeleke.
Last Tuesday, June 25, Davido pulled out all the stops for a grand traditional wedding ceremony with his long-time partner. The event was a glittering spectacle, boasting a guest list of A-list celebrities and high-profile dignitaries.
However, just a week after the grand ceremony, a jaw-dropping video surfaced, capturing the explosive moment when Davido, with Chioma standing by, furiously slapped his bouncer.
The bouncer’s stunned expression spoke volumes, but it was nothing compared to the online uproar. Fans and critics alike were quick to slam Davido’s behavior, calling it appalling, particularly for humiliating a grown man so publicly.
Amidst the torrent of criticism, Davido took to social media with a defiant message, making it crystal clear that he couldn’t care less about what people have to say about him.
Unfazed by the backlash, the superstar stood his ground, dismissing the noise with an unapologetic stance.
“Fuck what people gotta say! Stay active,” he wrote.
This comes just hours after Davido and his newlywed wife, Chioma, currently enjoying their honeymoon, were spotted meeting Fuji legend Ayinde Wasiu, known as K1 de Ultimate, at a restaurant in Atlanta, US.
In a candid moment captured on video, Davido is seen embracing K1 de Ultimate warmly from behind, followed by a respectful handshake, illustrating their mutual admiration.
During their encounter, K1 de Ultimate inquired about Chioma, prompting Davido to eagerly call out to his wife.
Social media users have defended award-winning music star Davido after he was accused of assaulting his bodyguard at his wedding.
“He didn’t even hit the bouncer. I don’t know where they saw him punching the guy.”

Davido’s Bodyguard Speaks Over Claims of Singer’s Assault
Davido’s bouncer, Segun Ogunjobi also known as Segxy, spoke out about allegations that the singer physically assaulted him at his recent wedding to Chioma.
A viral video showed Davido slapping Segxy, seemingly because he was trying to prevent a child from approaching the singer.
The incident sparked online controversy, with many criticizing Davido’s behavior.
Emphasizing his loyalty and familiarity with the singer, Segxy stated that he knows Davido’s character and is certain that he would never hit or slap him or any other staff member.
“As regards the fake video flying on the internet. Y’all commenting shit you don’t know. My boss didn’t slap me and has never slapped any of his staff before. He’s only cautioning me to allow the boy.
“The boy in question appeared from nowhere, and I tried to stop him. Besides, my boss is my blood and family; I understand him so well without a word from his mouth. 30BG for life. HML boss.”

Davido’s bouncer, Lati, faced criticism after a video showed him physically assaulting one of the singer’s fans in February. Lati reportedly apologized and offered the fan N200,000 in compensation.
This isn’t the first time Davido has been involved in altercations with fans.
Last year, he made headlines for slapping a fan’s phone out of their hand during a ceremony for Mohbad, and later, at his ‘Timeless’ Concert, he was prepared to punch a fan who rushed the stage, but security intervened and removed the fan.
