Davido Reacts Following Rema’s Break From Music

Nigerian afrobeat singers, Rema and Davido respectively

Afrobeat sensation Davido has expressed empathy and support for fellow artist Rema after the latter announced his decision to take a break from performing to prioritize his health.

After a spectacular O2 concert, Rema shared a heartfelt post on social media, disclosing his intention to step back from the stage for the rest of December.

He admitted neglecting his health during years of touring and declared his intention to recuperate until 2024.

In response to Rema’s announcement, Davido acknowledged the challenges that come with being an artist, emphasizing the physical and mental toll it can take.

He commended Rema, referring to him as his junior colleague, for making Africa and the world proud with his electrifying performances and music.

Davido conveyed his support to Rema, urging him to prioritize self-care and take the necessary time to recharge.

In a comment on Rema’s post, “The job ain’t easy… You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations… get some rest King @heisrema come back stronger,” Davido wrote.

The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who flooded the comment section with praise for Davido’s kindness and encouragement towards Rema.

“At this point, every Nigerian needs a break. I wish the whole of December could be declared a public holiday. Hian.”

Ranked World’s Most Shazammed Song Of 2023

Rema’s hit song ‘Calm Down‘ is ranked as the world’s most Shazammed song of 2023.

The young Nigerian singer has undoubtedly captivated audiences globally with his unique style and melodies.

Released earlier in the year 2022, ‘Calm Down’ quickly gained popularity and became a viral sensation. The song’s fusion of Afro beats and contemporary pop elements seems to have struck a chord with listeners across the globe.

The song became the first African song to top the Global Shazam Year-End chart.

Shazam, the popular music identification app, recorded an extraordinary number of users’ search for ‘Calm Down’. This high demand ultimately led to its ranking as the most Shazammed song of the year.

To accomplish this, “Calm Down” defeated “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus and “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga, which came in second and third, respectively.

On Apple Music in 2023, the remix of “Calm Down,” which features Selena Gomez, is the song that has been streamed the most globally.

On Apple Music, it is currently the 45th most streamed song in the United States for 2023.

Along with having the most performances of any African artist on the 2023 Billboard Year-End Charts (34), Rema also holds the record for most airplay, album, and song chart entries.

Rema’s rise to fame has been meteoric, and this accomplishment only solidifies his status as one of the most promising talents in the music industry.

In another piece of news, Rema sends shivers down the spine of the audience with the iconic entrance at London O2 Arena. Rema who left fans excited appeared on the stage donned in a unique black ensemble.

He hung on a sculpture designed in the sharp of a horse.

As Rema made his entrance, a lot of fans screamed at the top of their voices. The singer went on to kick off his performance with his recently released song, ‘DND’.

Undoubtedly, Rema has continued to attain remarkable success in music, leaving Nigerians impressed by his achievements at a very young age.

The hitmaker who has attained remarkable successes over the years delivered a superb performance in the presence of renowned football stars and other notable personalities who graced the occasion.
