Elorm Aba Explains Criticisms Against Portia Asare’s ‘Juju’ Claims

Elorm Aba and Portia Asare

Kumawood actress, Elorm Aba has addressed her recent criticisms of her colleague Portia Asare after her comments about the existence of ‘juju’ in the movie industry.

Elorm Aba stated that the issue of ‘juju’ in the movie business was a past issue that did not need public coverage. The actress said that Portia Asare’s comments would derail her colleague’s attempt to revive the Kumawood industry after its recent decline.

She noted that the movie industry has struggled to get support from the government and other big entities because of the negative perception of them.

“We are now reviving the industry. Portia went far and came back. I and some colleagues went a step back before getting to where we are now. Nobody is talking about ‘juju’ and the negative things again. This issue is old.

“It started a long time ago. A lot of people have bad perceptions about Kumawood, so if we seek support from the government, nobody takes us seriously.”

Elorm Aba

The Kumawood actress said that Portia Asare, as a veteran, should not have come out to blame ‘juju’ for the decline of the Kumawood industry.

Elorm Aba added that her criticism against her colleague was not a personal attack.

“Portia has been in the industry for a long time. She cannot come and say that Kumawood is struggling because of juju. I don’t like that statement. ‘Juju’ is everywhere but you can’t blame it for Kumawood’s decline while shooting movies in Kumasi.

“You claim the Kumawood industry is dead but you are shooting a movie in Kumasi. If you believe that the industry is dead, why are you still in it?”

Elorm Aba

According to her, Portia Asare should have said things to improve the industry, instead of saying things that would scare investors away.

Aba highlighted that other film industries, like Nigeria’s, also face issues but continue to work towards growth.

“So if you get a platform, use it to help improve the industry that you are still a part of. Not talking about juju and all these things that will rather bring it down,” she added.

It can be recalled that Portia Asare claimed that ‘juju’, hatred, and envy amongst stakeholders in Kumawood led to its collapse.

Her comments were not taken kindly by some of her colleagues including Elorm Aba who criticized her.

Actress Drags Pastor Love Over Vulgar Language Against Obaapa Christy

Elorm Aba, Pastor Love and Obaapa Christy

Elorm Aba publicly criticized Pastor Love, the ex-husband of gospel singer, Obaapa Christy, for his recent derogatory comments against her on social media.

The actress condemned Pastor Love’s behavior, stating that many people experience heartbreaks but manage to speak respectfully.

“Pastor Love is the cause of all these issues. Pastor Love does not speak well. Looking at this, it’s obvious the lady has endured a lot under him.”

Elorm Aba

Aba pointed out that this is not the first time Pastor Love has behaved in such a manner, adding that he has a habit of creating feuds and coming back to apologize.

She asserted that no one, especially a woman, should be subjected to such disrespectful treatment and praised Obaapa Christy for leaving him.

Pastor Love took to social media to respond to Obaapa Christy’s claim that he had no role in writing her hit songs, accusing certain pastors of having secret affairs with his ex-wife.

After reflecting on his actions, Pastor Love apologized to those who were hurt, including the accused pastors and Ghanaians.

He admitted his comments were made in anger and acknowledged his human fallibility.
