Iconic Gospel songstress, Empress Gifty has shared insights on what she has learned from her marriage following the end of her previous relationship with her former husband, Prophet Elisha Osei.
The singer, who is now married to prominent New Patriotic Party [NPP] member, Hopeson Adorye, revealed that she has embraced the importance of being submissive in marriage.
Reflecting on what she has learned from being a divorcee while speaking, the controversial gospel songstress said: “I have learned how to forgive… I have learned how not to insult your husband, even when you are right … I have learned how to keep quiet and I have learned how to pamper a man because that is all they want.”
She also highlighted the importance of respecting privacy in marriage.
“I don’t take marriage personally. You become a nagging wife if you take it personally. When I call my husband, I don’t immediately ask him where he is. The first thing I do is to find out he is okay. I don’t invade his freedom and privacy, and it is working for me.”

The Gospel sensation also challenged the stigma surrounding divorce, asserting that it’s not a curse but a natural phase of life.
Empress Gifty shared her insight that divorce is not a curse as presumed but a transition of life. “It was a tough decision. Always going to church and all of a sudden you have to stop, you have to sit home and you have memories…but I had the right people around me,” she said
“When you divorce and you don’t have the right people around you, you would lose focus… So my mother and my aunty, Mama G were there to support me. In our world now, when you go into a divorce it’s like a curse, but you see, it’s a transition of life.. It’s something bound to happen.”
