Actress and entrepreneur, Precious Fella Makafui has been allegedly arrested for selling unregistered products to the public.

Her arrest was facilitated by the investigative documentary filmmaking firm ISPYGH 247, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana.

She was arrested for engaging in unlawful activities related to the sale of unregistered drugs.

Her crime also includes false advertising, and the dissemination of unapproved adverts by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

After a six-month surveillance operation monitoring Fella’s social media posts on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, Akwasi Koranteng, the lead investigator, and his team of undercover journalists from ISPYGH 247 gathered evidence of her illegal activities.

Following her arrest, 16 different products including Fertility Tea (Fibroid And Womb Tea), Butt And Hips Enlargement Syrup, Butt And Hip Enlargement Oil, Booty Cream, Booty Scrub, Hip And Big Butt Tea, Breast Firming and Enlargement Cream were seized.

Other products seized from her shop in Mempeasem were Vagina Detox Pearls, Male Sexual Vitality Tea, Spice Herbal Infection Mixture, Yoni Wash Gel, Orgasmic Gel, Weight Gain Syrup, Spice Coded Powder, Tiger Herbal Mixture and Sweet Drip Honey.

In a statement issued, the investigators stated Fella acknowledged that while her products have gained popularity, the lack of FDA registration is a significant error.

She was subsequently granted bail pending further investigation.

This joint operation aims to protect the public from harmful and unapproved products, ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical regulations and upholding standards of pharmaceutical care.

This revelation has sparked discussions about the safety and regulation of products sold by celebrities and influencers in Ghana.

The admission raises concerns about consumer protection and the role of regulatory bodies in ensuring public safety.

This statement has prompted reactions from health officials and the public, calling for stricter enforcement of regulations on consumer products.

The controversy pictures the broader issue of unregistered products in the market, with many urging the FDA to intensify its monitoring activities.

Fella Makafui’s case is now the center of discussions about celebrity endorsements and the ethical responsibilities of influencers in promoting products.

Fella Makafui’s fans and supporters have shown mixed reactions, with some expressing disappointment and others standing by her, hoping for swift corrective measures.

The actress and entrepreneur has chosen to take a break from the barrage of insults and condemnations hurled at her by online users who have sided with her estranged husband’s accusations.

Before making this decision, Fella expressed her belief that time would eventually vindicate her.

According to Fella Makafui, her next public appearance will be in Kumasi, where she will premiere her new movie Resonance.

On social media, the actress stated, “Logging out…back soon, Kumasi see you 8th June,” as she rallied fans for the upcoming event.

On another note, the actress left a message before her hiatus.

“Sometimes God takes you on a journey you didn’t know you needed to bring you everything you ever wanted. Trust the plan.”
