Ghanaian Youth Urged To Be Resolute To Hold Politicians Accountable

Jeneral Ntatia

Ghana, like many other countries around the world, has a long history of political corruption and mismanagement.

For years, politicians in the country have been able to act with impunity, lining their own pockets while the average citizen struggles to make ends meet and access basic services like healthcare and education.

However, there is a growing movement in Ghana urging citizens to be more resolute in their efforts to hold politicians accountable and demand transparency and accountability in government.

Many politicians in the country are able to operate without any oversight, making it easy for them to engage in corrupt practices without fear of repercussions. This lack of accountability has led to widespread distrust in the government and a feeling of powerlessness among the people.

In recent years, there has been a growing movement in Ghana to hold politicians accountable for their actions.

Citizens are increasingly using social media and other platforms to expose corruption and demand transparency from their elected officials. This has put pressure on politicians to act more responsibly and has led to some positive changes in government practices.

Ghanaian actor Prince Kwame Amoabeng, popularly known as Jeneral Ntatia, has urged the public to be resolute in their bid to put politicians on their toes.

He stated that although he has received a lot of flak for criticizing the party for not delivering on some of its promises, he is unfazed in his quest to speak the truth to power.

“Sometimes I bash them and they ask why I do that. But I feel that we should get to a point in Ghana when we should stop allowing politicians to take us for granted. We should stop thinking about I belong to NDC or NPP so when it is even bad, we should be there. We should speak up.

“I learned something recently on social media about the youth. I am bashing the NPP and they will say because I campaigned for them to assume power, I should keep quiet for us to suffer. It is even better to support and bash at the same time when it is not going when than you support and keep quiet when it is not going on.”

Jeneral Ntatia

Ghanaians must be resolute in their efforts to put politicians on their toes and demand transparency and accountability in government.

By staying informed, participating in the political process, and holding politicians accountable for their actions, citizens help to create a more just and equitable society for all.

Youth Support for Political Parties

po

It’s great to see young people taking an interest in politics and wanting to study party manifestos before making their decisions.

Some young people are not fully informed about the importance of studying political manifestos or have access to reliable information about them. They might rely on other factors like party branding, social media influence, or peer pressure to make their decision.

The youth is drawn to a political party based on emotional appeals, such as charismatic leaders, inspiring speeches, or a party’s stance on specific social issues that resonate with their personal experiences or values.

Some young people align themselves with a political party based on their cultural, ethnic, or religious identity, without deeply considering the party’s manifesto. This is usually driven by a desire for representation or a sense of belonging.

Young people place their trust in a political party based on its track record, reputation, or promises made during campaigns, without examining the details of the manifesto. They might believe that the party’s overall agenda aligns with their aspirations.

However, it’s important for individuals, including youth, to take the time to study political manifestos. This allows them to make informed decisions based on the policies, principles, and goals outlined by a political party.

A thorough understanding of a party’s manifesto helps ensure that their support is based on a comprehensive assessment of the party’s positions and potential impact on various issues.
