A bizarre footage, which is circulating online, appears to show mourners ‘raving’ alongside deceased rapper, Goonew’s embalmed body at his funeral.
An event titled ‘The Final Show’ was held at Bliss nightclub in Washington DC, weeks after the star, who was 24 years, was shot dead.
Pictures circulating online shows what appears to be the rapper standing up at the event. In the pictures, Goonew can be seen wearing sneakers, ripped jeans, a bling watch, and a dark blue Amiri sweater. The body had one hand placed inside the pocket of the sweater and on top of it all, a crown was placed on his head. Masked mourners were also seen in the viral video waving their hands and bright lights flashed in the club as another rapper performed on stage.
Speculation online suggests his embalmed body was erected inside the club however, the claims are yet to be verified since it is not clear if it is his embalmed body or if it was just a mannequin. However, a source who was present at the event claimed that it was the remains of Goonew and not a mannequin.
Meanwhile, Twitter users slammed the footage, noting that it was “disrespectful” to the rapper. Others branded it “disgusting” while some described the footage as “wild”. Some others who seemed to have no problem with the video averred that the rapper would have wished his funeral was done that way if he was alive.
