Veteran Ghanaian actor, Psalm Adjeteyfio has insisted that he never begged for food from MzGee; rather, he asked for ‘leftovers’, a construction he terms “figurative”.

Psalm Adjetefio’s clarification follows series of backlash from a section of the public who could not understand why the veteran actor would continuously beg for assistance even after receiving ‘scores’ of donations from some personalities including the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who gave him ¢50,000 Ghana Cedis.

According to the actor, if the public listened to the audio carefully, he never mentioned food. He emphasized that he only said “leftovers”. He further explained that based on the relationship he has with MzGee, when he says “leftovers”, she would understand that he didn’t mean it in literal terms but figuratively.

“I never mentioned food. Now, I was using figurative language. If you’re my friend and I’m in need, and I ask if you, ‘don’t have some ampesi?’, it doesn’t mean I want ampesi”.

Media personality, MzGee was heavily criticized after several people accused her of leaking the audio in which Psalm Adjeteyfio was asking for help. Speaking on the back of this, Psalm Adjeteyfio intimated that there is no way on earth MzGee could have deliberately leaked the audio just for him to be ridiculed by the public. He then pleaded with those attacking MzGee to stop it.

Psalm Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has come to the aid of Psalm Adjeteyfio who is popularly known as TT of 'Taxi Driver' fame.

“I don’t think MzGee will do a thing like that… please don’t attack MzGee; I don’t think she will consciously do a thing like that; no, I don’t believe that”.

T.T explained that the former TV3 presenter has been of great help to him for years and even helped raise funds to help foot some of his bills.

“I do talk to MzGee because she’s been to my house a few times and I think the first time when I was very sick and then she came around and even did an appeal for help from the public, after, we’ve been in touch and anytime I was in some difficulty, I would call her and she will help”.

Detailing how the audio got to the public domain, the veteran actor disclosed that MzGee only shared the content of their private conservation with her husband.

“So, on this particular day, I just sent her a WhatsApp message…[but] I didn’t hear from her, so, I thought maybe she would be busy or something. Just last night [Monday, January 10], she called me and said when I sent the message she was in Nigeria and so she sent the message to somebody to see if the person could be of assistance; specifically, she said she sent it to her husband.”

In the same vein, Psalm Adjeteyfio gave a breakdown of how he invested the ¢50,000 that was given to him by the Vice President. According to him, he used ¢30,000 to buy two plots of land and also purchased a used taxi for his son for GH¢20,000.

“Taking note of the situation, the whole world had their eye on the money so I should be very careful how I use the money, so I got two plots of land which I paid for one with ready cash I’m yet to pay for the other one”.
