It became the biggest news in Ghana that Ghanaian afro beats and high-life singer-songwriter KiDi was down with a stroke and subsequently developed liver cancer.
It was widely assumed that KiDi was battling with a stroke as a reason he suspended his GoldenBoy North American tour which was supposed to come off early this year.
This devastating news got Ghanaians worried as it was presumed that the VGMA Award winner had a short time to live on earth.
The reports were disputed by his management in a statement on Twitter but were later backed by a series of videos to confirm he’s indeed not immobile.
The news went widespread to the point that KiDi came out to explain and express his current health standings debunking that he has a stroke.
A few days following his public reaction to the stroke rumors, KiDi sent shivers down the spine of his fans after revealing that if he ever said he was fine, he was just telling lies.
KiDi talked about his sickness once again, in a song, – According to him, his loved ones will burst into uncontrollable tears if he ever shows them his liver.
He also talked about how he has been living in pain for some time now but always tries his possible best to cheer up in the midst of people.
These new statements from KiDi through his music got many Ghanaians worried more as they started to keep the musician in their prayers.
Well, KiDi granted his first interview after taking a break from his career due to demanding health concerns.
The Musician has finally spoken the truth about his health. According to him, he doesn’t have a stroke and equally doesn’t have a liver disease.
In the interview, KiDi expressed his shock at how people believed he had such a grave health condition.
It’s senseless
Kuami Eugene scolded his label mate, KiDi, over claims that he doesn’t censor his speech.
Earlier in an interview, KiDi asserted that Kuami Eugene lacks proper communication skills.
KiDi made these comments in reaction to Kuami Eugene and Guru’s feud which took over social media in 2021.
KiDi stated:
“As for Kuami, he does not know how to communicate. I won’t lie to you. Even me he speaks to me anyhow sometimes”.

Kuami Eugene made an appearance on a show on April 30, 2023, where the issue was revisited.

“Yeah, I heard it and I told him to stop”.
Kwami Eugene
He was further asked whether he picked a cue from KiDi’s statements and Kuami Eugene described the ‘Sugar Daddy’s utterances as senseless.
He added:
“What he said was senseless so there was nothing worth picking from it. We live in a country where people can share their opinions. I am very opinionated and I share my thoughts in the heat of the moment. I don’t keep my concerns and brood over them, I voice them out.
“KiDi is the type that hides his sentiments and concerns. He will silently hurt over it than voicing it out. He will hide in his home and brood over it and it will probably lead to depression”.
Kwami Eugene
Meanwhile, KiDi has issued a passionate appeal to journalists not to engage him on issues pertaining to Kuami Eugene whenever he grants interviews.
In two separate interviews, the Afrobeats singer cautioned the media against what he described as pitching him against his label mate.
KiDi told:
“I would very much like for us to please skip this question because anytime I try to speak about Kuami Eugene with love people tend to twist my words into things that bring lots of issues between myself and Eugene but all I can say is that there is nothing bad going on between us. We are all different people so I don’t want the media to be asking me questions about him”.
