Ghanaian artist and entrepreneur, Van Vicker, has said that he has never ‘toasted’ any woman in his life before meeting his wife and even after marriage.
He made this disclosure during an interview session on the ‘Go online show’.
Recounting how he met his wife, the actor who has been married for 17 years now, explained that his first girlfriend whom he dated for 10years, eventually became his wife.
“I met my wife in a ‘trotro’. I was on my way to Accra from Cape Coast when I saw her sitting at my favorite position. I later sat next to her and then on the way she offered me a toffee. I rejected it, because, I was wondering why a lady would just offer me toffee. But later I thought to myself, I was like, why did I reject it…at that time I didn’t have a girlfriend and I had never proposed to any woman before…So Adwoa became my first girlfriend and then became my wife. We dated for 10years and then got married”.
Van Vicker who is the CEO of ‘Vantastic Grill’ explained how he came about his company’s’ name and debunked claims that he had moved out of the acting terrain.
“I just wanted something that will highlight my personality. I like using the word fantastic a lot. So I thought about it, and I was like I can fit my name in there. I decided to remove the ‘F’ and put ‘V’ there… I have not stopped acting, I am just on a break because of school. I want to complete school first, then ill zoom into it”.

Van, who also has a passion for riding motorbikes, revealed how it all started. He disclosed that when he decided to go back to school to further his education in Communication studies, he had to commute from Spintex to Adabraka, and that was a great challenge for him, since there was a lot of traffic.
He disclosed that the process of riding the bike was self-taught as he went on Youtube to learn how to ride.
“When I started school there was a lot of traffic, I had to move from Spintex to Adabraka from Monday to Friday. My lectures start at 5oclock and when I am driving, there is a lot of traffic and if I leave home at 4 I would get to school at six, then I’ll be late for lectures.
“It took me two weeks to learn how to ride and I taught myself. I went on Youtube to learn”.
When asked which profession he would have taken up if he wasn’t an actor, he said “I would have been a Doctor, specifically a gynecologist. Back in the day when I was about 4-6 years, I told my mother I wanted to be a doctor. When I got to 7-8 I saw the word gynecologist, and I realized it was a type of Doctor. I wasn’t too sure what it meant, but then I found the name very appealing, and I decided that I wanted to do. But then I later got into showbiz. I couldn’t further my university education because there was no fund”.
