Ghanaian hip-hop rapper and songwriter, M.anifest has asserted that he was very successful last year amidst the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presented.
The ‘Some Way Bi’ crooner made this disclosure during an interview on an Accra-based television station. He explained that, even though there were some challenges, he was able to do new things which helped him become better creatively.
“I was very successful during COVID last year. Because, it allowed me to pivot and look at different things. It allowed me do things out of the studio shows. I did a lot of things with Absa, Master card foundation and all that. I used my creativity beyond just what people are used to. Also, I got the chance to record a lot. So, aside from the tragedy COVID brought, where people lost their lives, for me personally, it was a successful year”.

THE SPECIAL ‘MANIFESTIVETIES’
Speaking about his annual concert ‘Manifestivities’, he opined that last year’s concert was one of his best concerts ever. According to him, he was able to take his fans and audience through the chapters of his life. Therefore, it made the concert “intimate” and very “personal” for him.
“It felt special; more intimate. It was partly virtual and partly in person. However, we observed all the safety protocols. But then, it nearly didn’t happen. We had to put together something different; a show that people will enjoy and feel safe as well. To be honest if we didn’t have support from Absa, we couldn’t have put it up. …it’s a difficult time financially to put such a program together. I am glad it happened and I feel like I put out one of my best performance too. So, it was special”.

‘NO FEAR’, AN AFFIRMATION TO BE FEARLESS
M.anifest who has just released a new song, ‘No Fear’ mentioned that the song is his first single off his upcoming album. He further averred that he will disclose the title of his album after the release of his next single song. Manifest also disclosed that he has a song with Nigerian singer and songwriter, Patoranking on his upcoming album.
“it’s just came from my thoughts and just the roll of my tongue. it’s just a vibe that flows out of me. By the time it leaves my lips, I begin to have a concept of what I want to do. The idea of fearlessness is most important to me especially because I have chosen the road of rap. So, this song is like an affirmation to say there is no fear”.

That aside, when he was asked what his biggest fear is since his latest song is titled ‘No fear’ he said: “My biggest fear is that I would leave a life unfulfilled, and not realize the promise of my potential. I overcome that fear by constantly not being complacent in working. You don’t just start patting yourself at the back and think you have reached. So, I always revaluate whatever I do”.
Manifest who is the son of a Ghanaian lawyer and academician, Tsatsu Tsikata, noted that his father is one of his inspirations. He explained that looking at the age of his father and how he is still striving for excellence, makes him (M.anifest) look out to do more.
